NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ABC News Chief Global affairs correspondent Martha Raddatz recently shared a snap from her visit to Israel back in 1988.
The eminent journalist specified that it was her first time “covering the conflict” back then.
The 70-year-old took to Instagram in light of recent events when Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel.
Raddatz’s post clearly stated that she was “gutted” about the recent Hamas attack and reminisced about her time in Israel almost 35 years ago.
The ABC News veteran is renowned for her reports on global affairs and her post on Israel garnered attention and praise for ‘Good Morning America’ stars Ginger Zee, Gio Benitez, and Rebecca Jarvis.
The trio acknowledged the post and shared Raddatz’s Israel snap on their Instagram story.

In the photo, the ABC News journalist can be spotted looking down, taking notes while two soldiers in uniform stand next to her, giving her all the details.
A young Raddatz appears to be hard at work, reporting for the network and covering the Israel-Hamas conflict for the very first time.
After posting the photo on her Instagram handle in a show of solidarity with Israel, she captioned it, “This was 1988 in Israel. It was the first conflict I really ever covered. The first time I understood what war was about. I have been back many times since. And covered many wars since. But this Hamas attack just guts me. I can think of little else.”

While sharing the snap on her story, Zee captioned the post with the same comment.
