PASADENA, CALIFORNIA: After watching a long and "boring" episode packed with filler segments and familiar performers, 'America's Got Talent' viewers have called for a "boycott" of the show. Critics have accused the judges of making the show all about them, with many fans threatening to quit watching it.
The September 13 broadcast of 'AGT' was supposed to be an hour-long show focusing on the results, announcing which acts would advance to the finals. Instead, viewers were treated to sporadic results interspersed with lighthearted and judges-focused portions.
With each elimination, host Terry Crews made sure to heighten the tension. However, several critics dismissed it as phony. After each result was given, there was a little comedy, a judging check-in, or a performance, which did not appear to please the viewers.
As the show aired, outraged viewers took to X to express their displeasure over the filler episode, demanding a boycott.
One viewer tweeted, "The@AGT Results is such a waste of time. The Tot Seat was stupid. Just do the results and end the show." Another said, "Agreed. They can EASILY CUT the #AGTResults show down to a half hour."
One viewer noted, "Watching @agt lately has been a bit of a yawn. The predictability of the worst acts winning just isn't cutting it anymore. Time for some fresh AMERICAN talent and surprises!"
Another person wrote, "It’s really disappointing to see what shows like #AGT have become. From recycled acts, to faux-suspense, to it being all about the judges.. it’s just not the same as it used to be."
Another viewer tweeted, "It's filler segments like this that are slowly killing this show."
One person added, "Okay, now we’re back to filler," while another asked, "When do the actual finals begin? Feels like endless filler in the meantime."
