NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A sequel to the popular HBO series, ‘Sex and the City’, ‘And Just Like That’ Season 1 has already received much attention from the viewers. As Season 2 returns in June 2023, fans are going head over heels for what comes next in the storyline of the three characters navigating their lives and love in their 50s. Well, a surprise is in motion, as revealed by the show’s creator, Michael Patrick King. Of course, it's the comeback of heartthrob Aidan Shaw in Season 2.
‘And Just Like That’ Season 2 trailer has given its viewers a glimpse of a familiar face from ‘Sex and the City’. The trailer divulges the story is picked up three weeks after the end of Season 1. Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) tries to move on from Mr Big’s (Chris Noth) death and ends up kissing her podcast producer. While Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) shifts to the West Coast to be with Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) focuses on letting go of labels. Although not much is explained about where the story will go and how many turns it will take, Michael has hinted its fans a little surprise which will bring great excitement to the show.

Is Aidan Shaw single in ‘And Just Like That’ Season 2?
The creator of ‘And Just Like That’ Michael Patrick King, has startled the fans with new details about the return of John Corbett as Aidan Shaw in Season 2. The fans of ‘Sexy and the City’ were amazed when the pictures of Aidan and Carrie loomed, highlighting the return of the duo. As described in the Season 1 finale, Carrie is single after the death of Mr Big but fans are now getting curious if Aidan was also single when he and Cassie got back together.
In Season 6 of ‘Sex and the City’, Aidan was seen married to a furniture designer, Kathy, and they both had a child together. In this regard, Michael revealed in an interview that, “Aidan and Carrie are single when the season begins," as per People. He further added, “I started season 2 knowing I was bringing Aidan back, and I felt very strongly about that."
Aidan is also glimpsed in the trailer of ‘And Just Like That' Season 2 alongside the photos. While Michael says “his [Aidan] comeback is more fun," we can only wait till the release of the new season to acknowledge Michael’s statement.
The show creator continues, “How, when he shows up, what happens is all part of the great fun and puzzle of writing a series, to somehow give people what they're expecting and yet find ways to have people grow and still be that person.”
Moreover, Michael disclosed that he knew he was killing Mr Big during Season 1, but “he felt strongly about that." Momentarily, he isn’t talking much about Carrie and Aidan reuniting, although he confirms that both were single at the beginning of the season. He continued, “I would not make Carrie Bradshaw a home-wrecker. That's the biggest leak I can give you. That's not the story. The story is [they're] open for business. They're both single. You know how she's single. You don't know how Aidan's single.”
Who are the guests starring in ‘And Just Like That’ Season 2?
Besides Aidan’s comeback, Michael also confirmed the addition of guests in Season 2. He says Candice Bergen as Enid Frick will return with her ‘Sex and the City’ Vogue editor role. Additionally, the season will guest-star Gloria Steinem and Sam Smith. In the end, Michael teased the fans, “Then there's some treats, which I'm not gonna tell you. There's a couple of surprises every now and then.”
