LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Joe Alwyn, Taylor Swift's ex-boyfriend, apparently feels "belittled and slighted" by her new relationship with British singer Matty Healy. The multi-Grammy award winner, 33, and the actor split up in April 2023 after six years of dating. Since then, the 'Love Story' singer has reportedly fallen in love with the 1975 frontman.
When Taylor assured Joe that she was only "friends" with Matty, 34, he said that he "put his trust in her," as per Daily Mail. Rumors about Taylor's connection with Matty started to circulate earlier this month just weeks after reports of the breakup with the 'Harriet' star were made open to everyone.

'He trusted her'
A source with firsthand knowledge of the matter said that Joe is quite upset about the speedy exit of his ex-girlfriend, especially after placing his "trust" in Taylor when she began working with Matty in the final stages of their relationship. "Joe feels slighted and distraught after seeing her budding relationship with Matt, but is doing his best to keep busy and focus on himself," the insider said. "Joe was aware that Taylor and Matt were making music together and collaborating. She told him that they had become friends and he trusted her."
'There was absolutely no crossover'
However, in line with prior stories, the insider refuted that there was any "overlap" between Taylor's two romances. "She and Matty are madly in love. It’s super-early days, but it feels right. They first dated, very briefly, almost ten years ago but timings just didn’t work out. Taylor and Joe actually split up back in February, so there was absolutely no crossover," The Sun reported. The source continued, "Both Matty and Taylor have been touring over the past few weeks, so it’s been a lot of Face-Timing and texting but she cannot wait to see him again. But as two international megastars, they understand the pressures of one another’s jobs better than anyone, and are incredibly supportive of their respective careers."
The insider added, "They are both massively proud and excited about this relationship and, unlike Taylor’s last one — which was very much kept out of the spotlight, deliberately — she wants to ‘own’ this romance, and not hide it away." "Taylor just wants to live her life, and be happy. She’s told pals Matty is flying to Nashville over the weekend to support her on the next leg of her tour," the source continued.
'He might be Mr perfectly fine'
Redditors quickly reacted to the news with many claiming that Joe is probably not as devastated as he claims to be. A user wrote, "I would like to exclude Joe from this narrative. Hasn’t he been through enough?" A user didn't believe he is distraught and said, "Honestly anyone could’ve made this up. He might be distraught, he might be totally fine." "He might be Mr perfectly fine," said another Redditor. "Joe’s out there reading this rn like “who said that ?” commented another user. "Ugh, can't we just all collectively leave the poor guy alone?" someone else remarked. One fan noted, "Joe Alwyn deserves better." Another said, "His so handsome and unproblematic. I wish him well ❤️"
