LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s adopted daughter Zahara appeared to have dropped Pitt from her surname, the former power couple’s son Pax’s old Instagram post resurfaced where he dissed his father by calling him a “world class a**hole.”
Daily Mail unearthed an old post of the 19-year-old from 2020 where he shaded his Hollywood star father, and said that he made his four youngest children “tremble” in fear.
Following the revival of the old post, fans seemed to have taken sides in the contentious battle between Pitt and Jolie.
Once termed Brangelina, Pitt and Jolie married in 2014 following almost a decade of dating. They shocked the world as Jolie filed for divorce in 2016.
What did Pax say?
In the post from 2020, which he shared on the Instagram Stories of his private account, Pax wrote, “You have made the lives of those closest to me a constant hell.”
He added, “You may tell yourself and the world whatever you want,” before continuing, “but the truth will come to light someday.”
Sharing a picture of Pitt accepting the Oscars for his supporting role in ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ in 2020, Pax wrote, “So Happy Father's Day, you f*****g awful human being.”
Calling his adoptive father “a world class a**hole”, the 19-year-old had added, “You time and time and again prove yourself to be a terrible and despicable person.”
He continued, “You have no consideration or empathy toward your four youngest children who tremble in fear when in your presence.”
“You will never understand the damage you have done to my family because you're incapable of doing so,” wrote Pax.
Pax appears to have joined Maddox and Zahara in choosing sides in the battle between their parents.
A source even confirmed to the news outlet that it was indeed Pax's private account, and said, "It's the account he uses for friends – friends from school mostly. He never says much about his parents, keeps himself to himself, so that was unusual."
Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie's custody battle
It has long been speculated that the couple’s eldest son Maddox supported Jolie during the ‘Mr and Mrs Smith’ stars altercation aboard the private jet in 2016. The squabble allegedly happened between Pitt and his adoptive son Maddox.
Only a few days later, Jolie filed for a divorce from Pitt. The couple were granted the divorce in 2019 with Jolie getting the full custody of the children.
In a 2021 judgment, however, Pitt was handed 50 percent of the custody. Later, after an investigation revealed that the judge who was in charge of the case had close business alliances with Pitt's lawyers, the ruling was retracted.
Jolie was restored the full custody of the couple’s six children and the ‘Troy’ star was allowed only “custodial visits.”
Apart from Maddox, 22; Pax, 19: and Zahara, 18, the couple are also parents to Shiloh, 17, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15.
'Vindication will happen eventually'
A sudden resurgence of the three-year old Instagram post divided the fans in their opinions. While some of the fans clearly chose side, a few of the social media usesr even found classic patterns of psychology in the parent-child tension.
One of the netizens commented, "Might be an old story, but worth noting: classic demonstration of a kid wanting to make sure he pleases his mom and not lose her love, so he lashes out at dad. The results of Parental Alienation (an emotional manipulation) in real time."
Another fan apparently shaded Jolie while saying, "I hate mothers who poison their children during a divorce."
"Mommy clearly told you to say that," chimed in someone else.
"Or Pax would live a poor live if he was not picked up by a married couple; taking sides and not be grateful is the worst," said another user.
Someone else defended Jolie and remarked, "For those disgusting people saying Pax should be «grateful» : Pitt literally abused his wife and children, and he was not allowed visitation with them without supervision, for YEARS because of his abuse and alcoholism. He has not seen his grown children in years."
Another social media user commented, "It’s so funny (not haha) when children not only witness but are on the receiving end of abuse and people still think the mom needs to manipulate them. There were other witnesses btw and plane staff reported it. Then the post-separation abuse. Vindication will happen eventually."
