LOS ANGELES, CALFORNIA: It may be upsetting for many, but Britney Spears has nothing but praise for her ex-husband Sam Asghari in her new memoir, 'The Woman in Me', completed before he filed for divorce in August 2023.
The pop star, who met the actor on the set of her 'Slumber Party' music video in 2016, describes him as a “Gift from God” and credits him with helping her fight against her “abusive” conservatorship, TMZ reported.
Spears says she loved Sam Asghari for not drinking and being stable
Spears said he was sound and that she loved him for his nondrinking habits.
“I have an appreciation for how stable he is. I love that he doesn’t even drink,”
Spears writes in the book’s final pages, “The chemistry with us in the beginning was insane. We couldn’t keep our hands off each other.”
Spears, 41, also reveals that Asghari, 29, squeezed her hand as a sign of support when she delivered her bombshell testimony in court in June 2021, where she denounced her 13-year legal arrangement that controlled her life and finances.
Sam Asghari was good and took care of Britney Spears
She gushes in the memoir, “I look up to him — his consistency with working out and being a good man and being healthy and taking care of me and helping me learn how we can take care of each other,”
“He’s such an inspiration, and I’m grateful.” However, her feelings about him after the divorce may appear in a squeal.
The couple tied the knot at Spears’ California home in June 2022, but their marriage lasted only 14 months.
The Grammy winner had submitted her final manuscript for 'The Woman in Me' before the split.
However, Spears hinted on Instagram earlier this month that she might be working on a sequel, writing that “volume 2 [is] coming after 1.”
Page Six says her publisher, Gallery Books, has not confirmed any plans for a second book.
Fans have sympathy for Britney Spears and Sam Asghari, and some question her credibility
Spears’ fans reacted to her revelations about Asghari on social media, with some expressing sympathy and others questioning her credibility.
“She loved him. He was there for her though a lot. He was her only family that she could’ve trusted. Wishing them both happiness,” one fan commented on Instagram.
Another wrote, “He gave up that lifestyle of being with her because he just couldn’t handle it anymore.” A third user mocked, “They wouldn’t let her update the book after the breakup.”
A fourth fan said, “Brainwashed at its best.” Ome more joked, “Now I’m questioning if she wrote the book.”
Another commented, “Probably because it was written when they were still on good terms.” One more user commented, “That’s nice.”
One user was harsh on Asghari, writing, “Poor girl didnt see it coming that this leech is going to exploit her and leave. I cant stand this guy.”
