LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Promotions for two of the most anticipated films of the year, 'Oppenheimer' and 'Barbie', are in full swing and there's barely any time left before their release. The concurrent releases have resulted in a flurry of memes and doubled excitement, with many fans making unique plans to watch them in theaters.

Many among the creators of the films have already acknowledged the combined anticipation for the films. Cillian Murphy has finally made a note of the same, addressing the fan war going around on social media circles about which film will do better.

Cillian Murphy excited for 'Barbie' release

Many fans of Murphy and his upcoming film were desperately waiting for him to acknowledge how everyone was putting 'Barbie' and 'Oppenheimer' right next to each other. Previously, 'Barbie' director Greta Gerwig and lead Margot Robbie shared evidence of having watched their fellow release about the American physicist.

Murphy was asked in an interview with La Vanguardia what he thought of the release of the two movies on the same day. The Irish actor responded, “I can't wait to see Barbie. I love Margot Robbie, I love Ryan Gosling, I want to see them now!”

Murphy urges fans to watch both films

While many are excited about the 'Barbenheimer' release, with fans making customized costumes to wear to both films, some have incited a debate about the double bill. 'Barbie', made by the indie filmmaker Gerwig, has managed to join the ranks of more commercial flicks thanks to some clever marketing and the involvement of major actors and pop stars for the soundtrack. Meanwhile, 'Oppenheimer', made by auteur Christopher Nolan, is considered a more serious film, also given its war-related subject.

However, Murphy didn't seem to share the same views. “I don't know what the debate is about," he said in the interview, "Although it's not that I have an overwhelming opinion about it either. My advice would be for people to go see both, on the same day. If they are good films, that is what the cinema wins”.
