LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Today’ host Craig Melvin snapped at Al Roker after his long-due return on the show following his knee surgery. In a recent episode, the morning show had a chaotic live TV moment during Carson Daly’s segment.
On Tuesday, May 30, ‘Today’ broadcast, the hosts Carson, Craig, Al, Savannah, and Hoda sat next to each other while discussing ‘Succession’ star Brian Cox’s statements regarding the HBO hit series finale. The show’s host Carson Daly was leading the 'PopStart' segment, and when they were sharing their opinions about one of the topics, host Craig shouted at Al and defended his co-star, resulting in an embarrassing on-air moment.
‘Don’t do that’
On a recent broadcast of ‘Today’, Carson Daly hosted 'The Last Call' as he read an actor’s tweet from ‘Succession’, “We have not come to the end. And what has been, in my career, certainly the greatest work experience ever." Daly then addressed the viewers and said, "Now if you're not caught up go watch the finale before somebody spoils it and tells you who's in control of the whole Logan Roy empire."
While he teased the audience for watching the finale before spoilers, he turned to his co-hosts and pleaded, “Don’t tell me." While Craig tried to calm Carson adding, “Roker’s the only one that’s seen it." Suddenly, Savannah claimed, “No, I saw it." As Roker and Savannah were the only ones to have already watched the finale of ‘Succession’, they were about to share their insights and give spoilers as Roker excitingly asked, “Were you satisfied with it?” Before Savannah could answer him, Craig shouted, “Don’t do that!” The 68-year-old defended himself as he exclaimed, "That's not a spoiler but Carson promptly took Craig's side as he said, “Don't even talk about it. It'll reveal something."
Craig Melvin’s insulting moment
During Tuesday’s episode of ‘Today’, host Al Roker caught co-host Sheinelle Jones secretly insulting Craig Melvin while hosting a fun magic segment. The New York Times puzzle maker and Magician David Kwong stopped by the show alongside Al, Craig, Dylan Dreyer, and Jones. He played his tricks where one he found was rubbing a coin together and it disappeared, leaving everyone fascinated. It was like the coin vanished into thin air.
Al asked suspiciously, “What’d you do with it?” while Craig also looked at the coin, wondering what happened. David teased, “His brain just broke into a thousand little pieces." Jones blurted while pondering about the coin, “Wait, that doesn’t take much." Though it appears that everyone missed this quip, except AI. He called out with an amused face, “Ohhh!” Jones' remark to Craig didn’t catch attention as the hosts were busy with the coin’s disappearance. The anchors usually slide into such banter with each other, and Craig missed the sarcastic comment Jones this time.
