LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears recently took to Instagram to share a couple of throwback photos with Taylor Swift, recalling the time they first met.
One of their images had a datestamp of 2003 when Swift would have been only 14 years old. It would take three more years for the pop sensation to release her first single 'Tim McGraw', according to the Daily Mail.
The second picture was of the duo from the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards when Britney won Video of the Year, Best Pop Video, and Best Female Video for her song 'Piece of Me'.
By then, Swift was already famous, with two studio albums under her belt, which included classic songs such as 'You Belong With Me'.
In her November 11 post, Britney revealed that Swift approached her through an intermediary and managed to sing for her about 20 years ago, leaving the former astonished by her talent.
Britney Spears calls Taylor Swift her 'girl crush'
Sharing the adorable throwback pictures with Taylor Swift, Britney Spears wrote, "This is way back when but kinda cool ... During my Oops Tour, I got a knock at my door. My good friend at the time was the assistant to my manager who was trying to become a manager himself."
"There was a knock, and then he said, “I have a girl named Taylor who wants to come in and sing for you.” I was like of course !!! He walks in, and she sings a beautiful song with her guitar," continued the 'Toxic' singer.
She added, "I was like wow wow she's unbelievable !!! We took a picture, and she then became the most iconic pop woman of our generation. Kinda cool she plays stadiums, and I prefer her videos over movies any day. She's stunning !!! Girl crush."
Mentioning her mother Lynne Spears, Britney stated, "Ps mom I love you so so much, but there were 3 dolls in the cabinets when I went home 2 years ago … kinda really weird you would take them out and then put them back in … so messed up. Nope, I don't want them. Keep it all. I honestly don't care anymore … honestly though."
In her memoir 'The Woman in Me' which was released on October 24, Britney accused her parents, Jamie and Lynne, of having thrown out her childhood dolls and journals. She had also explained the importance of her Madame Alexander dolls as one of the few luxuries in her financially strapped childhood.
