NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former ‘Good Morning America’ meteorologist Sam Champion, has officially begun his new role at ABC as the co-host of the Eyewitness News at 10, airing every weekday morning. He takes over the time slot previously occupied by 'The Tamron Hall Show.'
At 62 years old, Champion now joins the team alongside Shirleen Allicot, Mike Marza, and Dani Beckstrom on Channel 7.
This transition was recently announced by the network, relocating 'The Tamron Hall Show' to the 2 p.m. time slot after achieving record-breaking ratings in its fourth season.

ABC7's Eyewitness News Mornings was introduced in the time slot previously held by talk show host Tamron Hall.
The network decided to move Eyewitness News to 10 a.m. to “dig deeper into the topics and events that showcase the local communities.”
ABC-owned Television Stations President Chad Matthews said, “And the addition of local news programming at 10 a.m. — led by these extraordinary teams — will allow us to dig even deeper into the topics and events that showcase our local communities and the issues most impacting them”
He further added that this program will “extend and expand upon breaking news and topics being discussed on 'Good Morning America' and 'Live with Kelly and Mark.’”
Champion recently tweeted about the program and said, “We have a new show on @ABC7NY! It’s at 10 AM!! Please check us out! @ShirleenAllicot @mikemarzaABC7,” signaling a new chapter in his life.
