NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News host Dana Perino questioned the positions of the Democratic Congress group 'The Sqaud' as one of the members called for a refuge operation for the Gazans who are suffering the brunt of the conflict.
While on 'The Five', Perino criticized the Democratic representatives for not prioritizing the safety of the Americans who have been harmed by the militant group Hamas and continue to be stuck in the conflict region.
Dem Rep Jamaal Bowman asks for the US to be Gazans' refuge settlement
One of the eight members of the progressive group known as the 'The Sqaud', Rep Jamaal Bowman made the proposal for the Gazans to be given refuge in America.
The Gaza Strip housed around 2 million Palestinians out of which a big number is taken up by children. Bowman expressed concern over the world seeing a major influx of refugees from the region and suggested that America be prepared for it too.
"The international community as well as the United States should be prepared to welcome refugees from Palestine while being very careful to vet and not allow members of Hamas,” Bowman said, as per the New York Post.
Fox host Perino was not happy with the Democrat for addressing this issue.
Dana Perino says 'something is wrong' with Bowman
The conservative host on 'The Five' slammed Bowman over his statement, also mentioning the many pro-Palestine protests being organized by university students.
"I am tired of listening to 19-year-olds. I don't even need to be condescended to by them. But when you are an adult and a member of Congress and part of 'The Squad', then yes, you deserve to be listened to and to be criticized."
She went on to add, "If you are in 'The Squad' and the first thing out of your mouth this morning is not 'We have to get the Americans back', then something is wrong with you. Because there are Americans who were killed and Americans who were being held hostage."
Perino also noted that the Squad members had refused to open up to the questions of Jewish newspapers after making strong statements in support of Palestine.
"In addition, two of the co-sponsors Cori Bush and Summer Lee would not speak to their hometown Jewish newspapers that is in Pittsburg and St. Louis. And you know what? They pay your salary, the federal taxpayer, and if you are going to go out there and say what you are going to say, about what you think should happen in the Middle East, you should at least be willing to do an interview with the free press here at home in your districts."
