Khloe Kardashian has revealed that what she thought was a zit on her face turned out to be melanoma. Kardashian, 38, and her family navigate the implications of the diagnosis during the latest episode of The Kardashians, a Hulu series that follows the high-profile members of the celebrity Kardashian-Jenner family. “Khloe has a little bit of a history with melanoma and cancerous lesions, so this on her face is very concerning to me,” Khloe’s mother Kris Jenner, 67, says to her step-sister Kylie Jenner, 25, during the episode. Kylie responds that her older sister had “this little bump and she was trying to remove it, and she’s like, ‘it just won’t go away,’ so to find out it’s melanoma is obviously really scary and I just hope that everything’s gonna be OK.” Kardashian decided to have a biopsy on the bump on her face, despite thinking it was a “zit”. “I have done one biopsy on this bump that I just assumed was a zit, turns out it’s not a zit,” she says during the episode. “It’s melanoma and for my age, it’s incredibly rare.” Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that can spread to other areas of the body, according to the NHS. The main cause of melanoma is ultraviolet light, which comes from the sun and is used in sunbeds. “Melanoma is deadly,” Kardashian said in a trailer for the show. “This is way more serious than I anticipated it to be.” Factors that increase the chances of getting melanoma include age and having pale skin, a large number of moles and a family history of skin cancer. Karshasian first opened up about her skin cancer scare in October 2022 and shared the news on her Instagram Story, featuring close-up photos of her skin. She said at the time that she was “grateful” that the margins now “appear clear” and she was in the “healing process”. “So, here we are… you’ll continue to see my bandages and when I’m allowed, you’ll probably see a scar (and an indentation in my cheek from the tumour being removed) but until then I hope you enjoy how fabulous I’m making these face bandages look.” Kardashian also urged her followers to get frequent checkups by recounting a past incident where doctors found a cancerous mole on her back. “At 19 years old, I had melanoma on my back, and I had a surgery to remove that as well, so I am pre-composed to melanomas,” she said of that experience. “Even those who are not, we should be checking all the time.” “I am someone who wears sunscreen every single day religiously so no one is exempt from these things. Influencer Dylan Mulvaney shared that Bud Light never reached out to her after facing transphobia from her ad with them. In a TikTok uploaded on Thursday, Mulvaney, a transgender woman who has used her platform to document her transition, spoke about her experience after doing an ad for Bud Light. Mulvaney had posted an Instagram video of her drinking Bud Light back in April. The ad led to an onslaught of transphobia and threats directed towards the 26-year-old as well as some conservatives and anti-trans campaigners boycotting Bud Light. Some even went so far as to destroy Bud Light products in stores. The TikTok, which currently has over 1.5 million likes and over 8 million views, started with Mulvaney drinking beer saying "one thing I will not tolerate people saying about me is that I don't like beer," she smiles. "Because I love beer and I always have." She goes on to talk about the brand partnership with Bud Light saying: "I'm bringing it up because what transpired from that video was more bullying and transphobia than I could have ever imagined." But surprise, they haven't really," explaining why she was speaking about it now. "And I was waiting for the brand to reach out to me but they never did. And for months now, I've been scared to leave my house. I have been ridiculed in public. I've been followed. The revelation that Bud Light had not reached out to Mulvaney after she faced bullying and harassment from their customers left many viewers shocked and appalled: "For a company to hire a trans person and then not publicly stand by them is worse, in my opinion, than not hiring a trans person at all," Mulvaney told viewers. "Because it gives customers permission to be as transphobic and hateful as they want. And the hate doesn't end with me, it has serious and grave consequences for the rest of our community and you know we're customers too, I know a lot of trans and queer people who love beer and I have some lesbian friends who could drink some of those haters under the table." "And all this is to say bottom line is that if you follow me, if I've made you smile, if you care about me, I need you to care about every trans person and I need you to support us and I need you to stand by us." At the end of her video, she added: "It's still Pride month, I'm gonna celebrate being alive and I'm gonna celebrate the trans people in my life and the ones I haven't met yet. And I'm going to celebrate the fact that no matter how many thousands of horrible messages or news anchors misgendering me or companies going silent that I can look in the mirror and see the woman that I am and that I love being." Mulvaney's video comes after Bud Light's parent company Anheuser-Busch's CEO Brendan Whitworth gave an exclusive interview to CBS Mornings on Wednesday. During the interview' he acknowledged it had been a "tough few weeks" for the company. "The conversation has become divisive," he said. "Bud Light has supported LGBTQ [people] since 1998, so that's 25 years, and as we've said from the beginning we'll continue to support the communities and organisations that we have supported for decades." However, the 20-year-old Wednesday actor was quick to dispel these rumours connecting her to the 60-year-old Hollywood veteran in an Instagram Story. “This is so ridiculous I can’t even laugh," Ortega told her 40m followers. “I have never met or worked with Johnny Depp in my life. Please stop spreading lies and leave us alone.” Meanwhile, Depp's camp has also vehemently shut down these rumours too, describing how the Pirates of the Caribbean actor was "appalled" by them. His rep told NME: “Mr. Depp has no personal or professional relationship with Ms. Ortega whatsoever. He has never met her or spoken to her. “He is not involved in any project with her, nor does he intend to be. He is appalled by these baseless and malicious rumours that are intended to harm his reputation and career.” Beetlejuice 2 is set to see Ortega play the daughter of Lydia Deetz, the role famously played by Winona Ryder in the original 1988 film, while Ryder and Michael Keaton will also reprise their roles for the sequel.
