Janelle Monae says that they're 'much happier' when they're topless
Janelle Monáe has said that they’re “much happier” being topless after posing for a new cover shoot. The singer and actor posed for Rolling Stone’s Pride issue after appearing to explore a more sexually liberal style in 2023 with a series of album promos. Monáe, who uses they/them pronouns, announced their new album, The Age of Pleasure, with a teaser clip of the NSFW video which sees them emerging from a pool wearing a translucent skin-tight t-shirt with the word “Pleasure” written across the front. The performer's bare breasts could be seen through the wet t-shirt and Monáe says it’s all part of being a “free-ass mother****er”. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter “I’m much happier when my titties are out, and I can run around free,” Monáe told Rolling Stone. The singer also posted the new album artwork for The Age of Pleasure which sees her swimming topless underwater. Monáe described the album as their “most sensual and indulgent album yet”, saying: “Most people don’t understand what’s going on in my brain. Community has been so helpful to me; it’s beautiful that I have a title called The Age of Pleasure because it actually re-centers me. “It’s not about an album anymore. I’ve changed my whole f–king lifestyle.” The singer added: “I want things to feel so true to my life … I used to consider myself a futurist. I know what that means, to obsess about the next thing. A present tourist is what I’m calling myself right now. I’m actively focusing on being present. “This album is not about a fight,” they shared. “It’s about living in an oasis created by us for us. Even with everything going on in the world, this is our moment to breathe together, unapologetically taking this beat to enjoy — to hurry up and live.” Have your say in our news democracy. Cardi B aims fresh three word insult at woman she threw microphone at
Rapper Cardi B has responded to the woman who threw water at her during a recent concert which saw the star violently propel her microphone back at the over-exuberant fan. The 30-year-old artist was performing at a night at Drai's Beach Club in Las Vegas. Although it's unclear when the incident occurred the clip began circulating on social media on Saturday after it was shared by the Twitter account Pop Base. The 'WAP' star was singing her hit 'Bodak Yellow' to a packed audience when she was suddenly drenched with water from the side of the stage. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter In an almost instant retaliation, Cardi B hurled her microphone in the direction of the woman who threw the water much to the shock of security, the audience and the other people on stage with her. The 18-second clip concludes with the rapper looking disturbed and confused while trying to calm herself as the song continues playing. An alternative angle of the incident was shared by Cardi B herself on Twitter when she retweeted a fan account featuring strongly worded lyrics from her and her husband's (OffSet) new song: 'Jealousy'. The tweet simply featured the words 'Jealous A** B***h!' Cardi B also tweeted herself by posting: "WATER AND GAS INCLUDED …Literally." The rapper is the latest star to have things thrown at them on stage with the likes of Pin, Bebe Rexha, Harry Styles and Taylor Swift all being subjected to the bizarre trend with some incidents resulting in injury for artists. Elon Musk issues foul mouthed retort at Mark Zuckerberg as feud intensifies
Elon Musk has escalated his rivalry with Mark Zuckerberg in his latest tweets, calling the Meta co-founder a "cuck." Since Zuckerberg's Meta launched Threads, a text-based social media app to rival Musk's Twitter, the two billionaire businessmen have been exchanging jibes online. Some of these include Zuckerberg taking to Twitter for the first time in 11 years to post a Spider-Man meme, Musk challenging Zuckerberg to a cage fight and Twitter threatening Threads with a lawsuit. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Now, Musk has responded to a screenshot from Threads that shows a post from the official account of the fast-food chain Wendy’s that reads: "hey @zuck, you should go to space just to make him really mad lol." To which Zuckerberg replied with a crying laughing emoji. Though clearly, this didn't amuse Musk as he declared on Twitter in response: "Zuck is a cuck." And he didn't stop there, in a follow-up tweet suggested another contest - not a cage-fighting one this time but something more explicit: "I propose a literal d*** measuring contest," Musk tweeted, along with a ruler emoji. The Elon Musk parody account cracked a joke in response to the real Musk's latest tweets: "At this point, I can't keep track of which account I'm tweeting from." This is the same parody account that called Zuckerberg a "lizard boy," and caught the attention of the actual Elon Musk who responded: "So many people think this account is me," with the eyes emoji. Zuckerberg has yet to respond in this war of words, though clearly this feud is far from over... Elsewhere, what is Threads, Instagram's 'text-based' alternative to Twitter, Threads users issued warning over new social media app, and Elon Musk responds to parody account calling Mark Zuckerberg 'lizard boy'.
