Liam and Noel Gallagher are at it again and once again it's Liam who is firing the shots at his older brother and his apparently 'blasphemous' cover of a famous Joy Division song. The older Gallagher and his band High Flying Birds performed with the BBC Concert Orchestra as part of BBC Radio 2’s Piano Room to promote their new album Council Skies. During the performance he covered the iconic tune 'Love Will Tear Us Apart.' Now we'll leave judgment of the cover down to you but it's fair to say that Liam wasn't too impressed by Noel's attempt to pay tribute to their fellow Manchester indie music icons. Girls Aloud are set to reunite next year for a UK and Ireland arena tour, much to the delight of fans. Formed in 2002, the girl group comprised of Nadine Coyle, Cheryl, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding and Kimberley Walsh were put together on the ITV talent show Popstars: The Rivals and would go on to achieve hit songs such as 'Sound of the Underground', 'Love Machine', 'Call the Shots', 'The Promise', and 'Something New' (to name just a few). The band split in 2013 after completing a greatest-hits tour, and in 2021 Harding sadly passed away from breast cancer aged 39. Now, the girls are getting back together as a four-piece for the tour in memory of Harding. “It hasn’t felt right, until now, to do anything without her. But now we feel strong enough, emotionally," Cheryl told the BBC about the decision to reunite. Over two decades have passed since the girl group were formed, and in this time they achieved four UK Number 1 singles and 21 UK Top 10 singles. Furthermore, they have provided us with some classic pop culture moments which are still referenced to this day - here are 10 of Girls Aloud's most iconic moments. "Ken Livingstone looked to really be enjoying himself," Kimberley commented. "I kept looking just to see if he had a look of disdain because some of the moves are a little bit... not sexy but you know what I mean." In the clip at the end of the film, the band appeared as the St Trinian's School Band dressed up in the uniform and performed the St.Trinian's chant in front of the schoolgirls. The late Harding also starred in the sequel of St. Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold as rebel Roxy a new student at the school. Truly iconic. The Grammy-winning singer who shot to international stardom in 1990 with the hit ballad 'Nothing Compares 2 U', and released 10 studio albums between 1987 and 2014 has died aged 56, her family confirmed. As well as being famous for her music, she also was known for some controversial moments. O'Connor was performing on Saturday Night Live on October 1992 when she ripped up the photo of the head of the Catholic church. The then 26-year-old singer performed an a cappella rendition of Bob Marley’s 'War' to bring attention to the issue of child abuse. As she finished singing, the singer held up a picture of Pope John Paul II and tore it to pieces in front of the camera. The stunt was reportedly to protest the issue of sexual abuse in the Catholic Church, long before such allegations were widely reported. The network received complaints after the stunt and O'Connor also received death threat, boos, and had to cancel lots of gigs. Remembering the incident in her 2021 autobiography, Rememberings, she wrote: "'When I walk backstage, literally not a human being is in sight. "All doors have closed. Everyone has vanished. Including my own manager, who locks himself in his room for three days and unplugs his phone." And in 2010, when Pope Benedict XVI apologized to Ireland to atone for decades of abuse, O'Connor condemned the apology for not going far enough and called for Catholics to boycott Mass until there was a full investigation into the Vatican's role. Announcing the singer's death in a statement yesterday, O'Connor's family said: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad.
