Taylor Swift fans are helping Jude Bellingham win the Golden Boy award
Taylor Swift fans are helping Jude Bellingham win the Golden Boy award
It appears Jude Bellingham could win the Golden Boy award thanks to all thanks to dedicated Swifties. In an unlikely crossover, the Real Madrid and England player is in the lead to win the prestigious award for best player in Europe under the age of 21. Notable past winners of the prize include Lionel Messi ,Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Raheem Sterling and Wayne Rooney. Alongside the 20-year-old in this year's contenders is Barcelona player Alejandro Balde, however a recent confession about noting liking a certain musician might have ruined his chances. During an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Balde said: "Do I like Taylor Swift? No, I don't like her music". At one point Badle was leading the fan vote by 13 per cent, according to Spanish journalist Martin Manin. Votes though for have Bellingham shot up and rightly so. The midfielder has had an impressive run at Real Madrid so far as he is now the third player in Los Blancos' history to score in each of his first four games for the club. This rush of votes has seemingly came from Swifties who weren't impressed with Balde's comments about the 'Anti-Hero' singer. "Hey Swifties, we can't let this Badle guy win the Golden Boy Award. Vote for Jude Bellingham here," Twitter user @notpythonn tweeted which went viral with over 6.8m views, and 30,000 likes. As a result of the Swifties taking action, the number of votes for Bellingham jumped from 30,000 to 100,000. Now, Bellingham has an overwhelming majority of 89.1 per cent after 3 million votes cast, while Balde in second place has just 8.4 per cent of votes, with Jamal Musiala in third (0.7 per cent). Snoop Dogg reveals the one person who can out-smoke him in resurfaced clip
Snoop Dogg reveals the one person who can out-smoke him in resurfaced clip
Snoop Dogg recently announced his decision to quit smoking and since then a clip has resurfaced where the rapper revealed the 'only person' who can out-smoke him. The 52-year-old - whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr - took to Instagram yesterday (November 16) to share the news with fans. "After much consideration and conversation with my family, I've decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time," he wrote. The announcement surprised fans, given Snoop's well-documented love for weed and the responses ranged from wishing him well to questioning whether it was some kind of publicity stunt. Meanwhile, a clip from 2018 when Snoop appeared as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! has been making rounds, where he revealed the only person - a musician - that could out-smoke him. The conversation began with Kimmel asking Snoop who he would put on a ‘Mount Rushmore' of pot smokers. "Seth Rogen was here last week, and we were talking about Mount Rushmore of pot smokers, and of course, you are on. "And I think that Seth is on Mt. Rushmore. Who would you put on that Mt. Rushmore?" Kimmel put to the Drop It Like It's Hot rapper. Snoop pondered for a moment before he gave his answer: "I would put Bob Marley." “I would put Cheech and Chong - they were the first faces on the mountain, they're the ones who showed us what a mountain was." "Willie P. Nelson is definitely on there," he added. "And by the way, Willie Nelson is the only person who has ever out smoked Snoop Dogg. I had to hit the 'time out' button." When questioned by Kimmel as to whether he's had to hit the 'time out' button before, Snoop insisted: “Never, never.” Nelson has also recalled the time he spent with Snoop, as he told the Daily Beast in 2021 how they connected when they were both in The Netherlands. “That was over in Amsterdam!" the country musician said, a city where smoking marijuana in coffee shops is accepted. “I called Snoop and I said, 'Hey buddy, you gotta come over here. This is where it’s at!' "So, he came over and we hit every bar, every smoke place in Amsterdam. We had a helluva time." Meghan Markle's latest career move has people thinking she's joined WWE
Meghan Markle's latest career move has people thinking she's joined WWE
The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has got people doing a double take with her latest career move, with many mistakenly thinking she has joined WWE. In a report from Variety, Meghan has signed up for representation with the Hollywood talent agency WME, in what will be seen as a lucrative acquisition for the company, which already boasts clients such as Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and tennis great Serena Williams. Meghan's team at WME will include Endeavor CEO Ari Emmanuel as well as top agents Jill Smoller and Brad Slater. While she does have experience as an actor a return to that field is not thought to be on the agenda. Film and television and brand partnerships are more likely to be explored. Sign up to our new free Indy100 weekly newsletter While this is obviously intriguing news from a Meghan and Harry perspective, the news has sideswiped a few people who have mistakenly read WME as 'WWE' aka World Wrestling Entertainment leading to some very puzzled reactions. Just for the record, Meghan Markle has not signed with WWE although we do think she'd have great promo skills and would love to see her work a program with Dominik Mysterio. You never know, maybe her new colleague The Rock could give her some tips. Have your say in our news democracy. 5 things we learnt from Kim Kardashian's big podcast interview
5 things we learnt from Kim Kardashian's big podcast interview
Kim Kardashian appeared on Jay Shetty's On Purpose podcast where she was incredibly candid about her past relationships, parenthood and things she "wished she knew sooner". Since launching his YouTube channel in 2016, Shetty has made a name for himself as an award-winning podcaster, author and life coach. His clips have since garnered over 4 billion views and a collective social media following of 20 million. Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter In an upload this week, Shetty sat down with the business mogul to discuss many areas of her life. Here are five revelations we took from the episode: Parenting challenges The business mogul opened up about the realities of having four children while speaking to Shetty. She candidly shared how there are some nights she would "cry myself to sleep," adding: "Like, holy s***, this f****** tornado in my house. Like, what just happened?" "With all the moods and the personalities and sometimes they're fighting, and you know, there's no one there." She went on to call "mom guilt" the "hardest thing." "You have to also separate though and understand that you need your own bit of sanity, so you have to do what makes you happy. Working for me, I love working, so that makes me happy. Anytime I think something's really hard, I dive into work," Kardashian said. According to the star, quality time with her children make them feel cared about. "You feel like you're the worst mom if something's going on and you can't fix it. You have no idea how to change it, your kids are fighting, whatever it is." She added: "I think how to balance work with that is when you're home being really present. Kids, all they want is time. They just want your time." "You cannot help people that don't want the help" While Kardashian didn't explicitly name her ex-husband Kanye West, she believes that a break-up doesn't necessarily mean it was a "failure". "Sometimes I feel like people think that if a relationship doesn't work out that it's a failure, but I don't really look at it like that 15 years together, 10 years. That's not a failure. That is so beautiful," she said. She also said she learned how you "cannot help people that don't want the help". "You can't force your beliefs and project that on someone that thinks something totally different," she went on to add, before explaining how its "okay to have those different views." However, "if you don't align in the same values and morals and things at your core, then it's okay to realise that this life is so short, and you should go and find the people that do align with what you really believe in." Her current dating life While Kardashian hasn't ruled out any future romantic relationships following her split from comedian Pete Davidson in August 2022, she made clear that she wants to take it slow. "I definitely will take my time, and I think there's so many factors, especially when you have kids, of being mindful of people that enter in your life," Kardashian told Shetty. "If I can look at everything that I did wrong and try to not make the same mistakes and really take my time, I think it just has to be different for me. ... I'm so comfortable taking my time to not rush it. There's so much going on that I'm not lonely." She no longer values materialistic things Kardashian noted that her interest in material things has diminished over the years. "First time, I packed up my entire shoe and bag closet," she said, referring to the California wildfires. "Third time, leave all the bags and shoes, I don't need 'em. We got all the photos, we got my little blankie when I was little, the kids' stuff. Fourth time, leave everything. Me and my babies, that's all I need." Have your say in our news democracy.
