Gary Lineker has called out Elon Musk for content he’s been subjected to on Twitter/X, and it’s not for the first time. The Match of the Day presenter hit out at the CEO of the social media site and replied to a “scam” new link which falsely claimed that Lineker was stepping away from his job in the media. The former England footballer responded to an account with a blue tick and 28 followers, a link with the caption: “Gary Lineker says goodbye and ends his career as a sports journalist.” “This is a scam. Do not click on it. So much of this on here now @elonmusk,” Lineker wrote. Lineker has been critical of Musk since he took over at Twitter. In a recent interview with the Guardian, the sports pundit said the tech mogul was bad at running the social media platform, and called him "rubbish". He said: "As for Elon Musk, I think perhaps the most interesting thing for me is that, for someone that’s spent so much money on Twitter, he is actually not very good on Twitter. He’s rubbish. I think that’s quite amusing.” Lineker also previously challenged Twitter/X and Musk after his son received abuse on the platform. Musk bought Twitter last year and since doing so has been criticised for making a number of unpopular changes like making people pay for their blue ticks and renaming Twitter 'X' recently. The Duke of York, Prince Andrew was mocked in front of 81,000 people at Wembley Stadium on Sunday evening at All Elite Wrestling's record-breaking 'All In' event. 81,035 people attended the show at Wembley making it the largest paid attendance for a wrestling show in history with only two shows held in 1995 in North Korea trumping it in terms of overall attendance. The show was headlined by a world championship match between Adam Cole and Maxwell Jacob Friedman but the match before that saw the House of Black defend their Trios Championship against The Acclaimed and 'Bad Ass' Billy Gunn. For those that aren't aware The Acclaimed often rap their way to the ring with team member Max Caster usually dropping a topical reference or dropping an acknowledgement to the city they are in at the time. As they were in London for the first time there were several jabs at the Royal Family most notably Prince Andrew all aimed in the direction of the House of Black. Caster began the rap by saying: "Acclaimed on the mic/ there is nothing that we can't do/ these guys are a bigger disgrace than Prince Andrew." The rest of the rap continued with a subtle dig at Meghan Markle and a reference to Harry Potter. Luckily for The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn the dig at the Royal Family wasn't in gest as they were able to defeat the House of Black and capture their first Trios Championships. Meanwhile, the senior Royals including Andrew all reported gathered at Balmoral on Sunday for the first time since the Queen's death on September 8th last year. Former President Donald Trump spoke out in favor of country singer Jason Aldean amid controversy around one of his new music videos. “Jason Aldean is a fantastic guy who just came out with a great new song. Support Jason all the way. MAGA!!!” the former president wrote on Truth Social on Thursday. Online critics blasted the “Try That In A Small Town” music video after discovering it was filmed outside the Maury County Courthouse in Columbia, Tennessee, where 18-year-old Black teenager Henry Choate was lynched in 1927, as well as where the Columbia race riot was held in 1946. As of Wednesday, Country Music Television said it refused to air the music video, USA Today reported. His music video was released Friday. Critics have accused the song of “promoting violence” and lynchings. Mr Aldean responded to the criticism in a lengthy tweet on Tuesday. He said for him, the song “refers to the feeling of a community that I had growing up, where we took care of our neighbors, regardless of differences of background or belief. Because they were our neighbors, and that was above any differences.” He added, “while I can try and respect others to have their own interpretation of a song with music – this one goes too far.” The country singer is a mass shooting survivor. Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action, reacted to the song’s lyrics: Mr Aldean “who was on-stage during the mass shooting at a Las Vegas concert in 2017 that killed 60 people and wounded over 400 more - has recorded a song called “Try That In A Small Town” about how he and his friends will shoot you if you try to take their guns.” Fellow 2024 presidential candidate and Florida Gov Ron DeSantis also chimed in with support for the country singer in an interview on “Fox & Friends”: “We need to restore sanity to this country. I mean, what is going on that that would be something that would be censored? I mean, give me a break.
