The MrBeast and Jacksepticeye drama explained
Two of the biggest names in YouTube have been feuding, with viewers surprised to see there was beef between MrBeast and Jacksepticeye. It comes following the circulation of a clip on social media, which saw Jacksepticeye asked questions about his fellow YouTuber. The footage shows the Irish 33-year-old hooked up to a lie detector, while giving his honest opinions on MrBeast – the biggest name on the video streaming platform. When asked about his content, Jacksepticeye said that MrBeast "ruined YouTube" because he made videos which were all about "views, money, and popularity." TommyInnit also appears in the video, and when he asked if MrBeast ruined YouTube, Jacksepticeye replied: “Yes. Because it became more about views, money, and popularity than it did about having fun. If he had fun doing those videos, they'd be longer. We'd see the fun." The clip quickly went viral, and MrBeast replied to him by taking issue with his comments. "So, I, 'ruined YouTube' because I didn’t buy a mansion and sports cars and instead reinvested my $ into making content/ocused on doing good and inspiring kids to help people?" he wrote on Twitter. "'If he had fun the videos would be longer.' What does that even mean, lol? You think I’d give up every hour of my life for 14 years if I didn’t have fun?” He went on to say: "This clip is insanely disrespectful IMO (in my opinion) and obviously there is so much I could say about his content but I’ll just take the punches and be the bigger man. Sigh." The disagreement understandably raised a lot of eyebrows among fans, but it now looks like the pair have managed to patch things up. They both posted on Twitter, with an exchange that seemed to suggest they’d been chatting privately and were no longer unhappy with each other. MrBeast posted a smiling emoji and said: “We messaged, we’re Gucci now”, followed by a smiling emoji. Jacksepticeye then replied to the message with a cowboy and thumbs-up emoji. Khloe Kardashian reveals dent on her face after cancer treatment
Khloe Kardashian has bravely opened up about her skin cancer journey that left an indention on her cheek. The reality star and Good American founder turned to Instagram Stories with a series of uploads after having a tumour removed from her face last year. On Tuesday (19 September), Kardashian thanked her doctor, Garth Fisher, before showing a photo of what she initially believed to be a "pimple for almost a year." "Not only did he remove the tumor and made sure that I am completely cancer free but he did such a f***ing stellar job on making my scar as small and beautiful as possible. Thank you so much, Garth! You know I adore you," she wrote. In a separate post, Kardashian shared a candid image of her stitching, along with a selfie of her bandaged cheek, writing: "I know this looks crazy and pretty massive, which it was, but for all good reason @garthmd made sure to protect the stitches and make sure everything was flat as possible so there was no stretching of the scar, incision area, and we tried to avoid keloiding as much as possible...He's just the best." Kardashian then shared a collage of before-and-after photos of getting an indent in her cheek filled in. "I look insane in these pics but I'm just so happy that my face is slowly coming back together ha! I don't even know how else to word this," she wrote, before emphasising the importance of getting checks. "Don't ever feel embarrassed or like you're making a big deal about nothing, or that you're being paranoid," she wrote. "There is no such thing as being too careful." '"With over 5 million cases diagnosed in the United States each year, skin cancer is America's most common cancer,"' Kardashian added. Greta Gerwig tried to get a 'fart opera' scene into Barbie
With its eccentric jokes and bright pink scenery, Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie was a breath of fresh air for many audiences – but it wasn’t always going to be that way. It has emerged that the director tried to get a “fart opera” scene into the film – but it didn’t make the final cut. Speaking to IndieWire, director Gerwig and the film’s editor Nick Houy said that across the three films they have collaborated on (Lady Bird, Little Women and Barbie) they have always tried to sneak in a fart joke. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Sadly for fans of toilet humour, none of the jokes have ever made it into the final versions of the films. Gerwig said: “We’ve always tried to get in a proper fart joke and we’ve never done it. We had like a fart opera in the middle [of Barbie]. I thought it was really funny. And that was not the consensus.” “It was in the wrong place, too,” Houy added. “We need to work it into a more significant narrative moment next time.” Neither said where the “fart opera” would have fit into the film. Houy said: “We were just, like, ‘Let’s put it in front of people and see how they react.’ Everyone’s different and every screening’s different and we’ve definitely learned, over the years, that you really have to let things have their fair chance and then act accordingly. Once you know it’s dead, you have got to get it out of there.” Barbie was one of the most hotly anticipated movies of recent times, starring Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, Dua Lipa, Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Emma Mackey, Hari Nef, Sharon Rooney and more. On its opening it didn’t disappoint, becoming the biggest first weekend for a film by a female director, grossing $162m over its first three days. Have your say in our news democracy.
