Heidi Montag's drastic appearance changes over the years
Actress and television personality Heidi Montag rose to fame in 2006 as an original cast member in the MTV reality television series 'The Hills'. In January 2010, Montag debuted her singing career with her first album 'Superficial'. She married Spencer Pratt, who also featured on 'The Hills', in 2008. The couple often received negative media attention for participating in the second season of the reality show 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' Since getting into the spotlight over a decade ago, Montag has undergone multiple plastic surgeries, including some in a single day in 2010. Irrespective of the attention, she has been very open about her beauty journey. She did ten plastic surgery procedures, including breast augmentation, a nose job, facial fat injections, an eyebrow lift, and a chin reduction. Her physical transformation was a major plot of 'The Hills'.
Heidi Montag from 2006 to 2009
After a minor role in 'Laguna Beach' as Lauren Conrad's friend, Montag's career took off in 2006 when she was cast for the spin-off 'The Hills'. Then a 19-year-old fashion student who moved from Colorado to Los Angeles, Montag had a typical 'Cali girl' look with blonde waves and barely-there makeup. The TV show made her a prey of tabloids and gossip columns. Stepping out of 'The Hills', Montag was no longer the same person. She changed her appearance into platinum hair and heavier makeup. The actress was insecure about her body and underwent rhinoplasty and breast augmentation surgeries. Post the TV show, Montag loved to glam up and pressured herself to look good.
Heidi Montag's extreme makeover from 2010 to 2015
Montag first showed off her post-surgery look in February 2010. To make her appearance perfect, the actress underwent a 16-hour surgery from head to toe. Plastic surgery procedures on her face included a nose job revision, chin reduction, a mini brow lift, liposuction on the neck, hips, waist, inner thighs, and ear pinning. She also took fat injections on her cheek, lips, and nasolabial folds. The procedure also included breast augmentation revision and butt augmentation. Montag also took a Botox treatment on the forehead on the same day.
Heidi Montag started embracing a more natural look by 2013
After making headlines for her plastic surgeries in the early 2010s, Montag reportedly began regretting the procedures and blamed the painful recovery process. By 2013, Montag started leaning toward a more natural look with less makeup and also downsized her breast implants. There were speculations that the actress lasered her baby hair around 2014 because her hairline seemed more unnatural.
Heidi Montag spoke about scary post-surgery experience in 2018
Montag had her first child in 2017 and returned to the spotlight through 'The Hills: New Beginnings'. In a 2018 interview given to Paper magazine, Montag talked about her post-surgery near-death experience. Recalling those days, Montag said, "I died for a minute. With that much surgery, I had to have 24-hour nurse care and Spencer didn't want to leave my side. I was at a recovery center and had Demerol to deal with the pain because it was so extreme. My security guards called Spencer and told him, 'Heidi's heart stopped. She's not going to make it.' And I easily could've. Cutting yourself up isn't something I'd recommend, and Demerol isn't anything to play around with. That's how Michael Jackson died."
