'I sacrificed Passover, he should sacrifice Mexico': Sabrina lashes out at her pro-partner Stas for bailing on her

TORONTO, CANADA: Sabrina Strasser is furious at her pro-partner, Stanislav 'Stas' Kochergin, for leaving her a week before the tri-state championship finals. In episode 2 of Bravo's new reality series 'Dancing Queens,' Sabrina believes her partner is not as passionate as she is about winning the championship since she is missing out on her family time to rehearse for the competition.

'Dancing Queens' is Bravo's answer to dance-based reality drama. This show follows a group of affluent ladies as they travel throughout the United States with oiled-up, accented, mega-abbed boy toys and partake in ballroom dancing competitions. The women spend their money on fancy outfits, glam gurus, and spray tans. They spend it on studio time, special lessons, and expensive shoes. For some, the excitement of competing is as appealing as the anxiety it induces. For others, the prize is being in the spotlight. Sabrina, on the other hand, is a hybrid caught between being the perfect housewife and the perfect dancer — it affects her more when she fails to balance her family and her passion for dance in her life.

'It's a family thing'

Sabrina went shopping for her kids after finishing second at tri-state before dropping the bomb on her family. Ronnie Strasser, Sabrina's husband, steps in as her girls unwrap their gifts. This provides Sabrina with the ideal chance to inform the entire family at once. She explains that she will be going to a big competition in New Orleans, but it will be around Passover.

When Ronnie hears this, he requests the girls to leave the room and expresses his disbelief to his wife. Sabrina informed him that since she had finished second in the tri-state tournament, she has to compete in New Orleans to redeem herself.

Ronnie argues with Sabrina saying, "Dancing is a hobby." But Sabrina begs to differ. She reminds Ronnie how she's spent two years sitting at home. It's not every day she skips a major Jewish holiday; it's the first time she's done so in 14 years. But now is the time when people can travel everywhere, again. She is attempting to re-enter the field after a two-year absence. Ronnie fails to understand Sabrina's game plan but tries to understand Sabrina's POV too.

Ronnie explains to Sabrina how important Passover is to him. "It's a family thing," he says, explaining why he's sad Sabrina won't be there. Sabrina assures Ronnie that she understands, but the competition is vital to her right now. Ronnie informs Sabrina that he is not emotionally great with the situation but is attempting to be okay with it for her sake.

'I am so mad at him right now'

Sabrina and Stas meet up on his birthday which turns out to be their final rehearsal before New Orleans. Sabrina, who initially wanted to spoil the birthday boy and work on her jive moves, was shocked as Stas shared his birthday plans with her. Her desire to win first place in New Orleans was dashed when Stas revealed that his family had surprised him with a trip to Mexico for his birthday. He'll be leaving the next day, which means they'll lose out on a week of practice. Sabrina voiced her rage in her confessional. "I am so mad at him right now," even though she was trying to be reasonable. "I sacrificed Passover, he should sacrifice Mexico."
