AUSTIN, TEXAS: Spotify has been rocked for the past few years by the controversies engulfing its most popular podcaster, Joe Rogan.
As per NY Times, 56-year-old UFC color commentator has prompted several prominent musicians and podcasters to leave the streaming service to protest what they described as Joe Rogan’s "history of promoting misinformation about the coronavirus and vaccines". A recent video where Rogan is seen blasting 'so-called Covid health experts' has taken the Internet by storm.
Joe Rogan blasts Covid health experts
The X (previously known as Twitter) handle of a user named Collin Rugg shared a clip of the UFC commentator on December 1, where he is seen taking a dig at Covid-19 health experts.
Rogan, who is known for his outspoken personality, started saying, "Things that I didn't like during Covid, this whole 'Trust the Experts' thing. Suck my d**k. That's nonsense." He added, "There are a lot of these people that are full of s**t and bought and paid for. I don't trust just the 'experts' anymore."
"I trust some experts if I can understand what they are talking about and I know where maybe their conflicts lie. I can see why would they be ignoring certain studies but highlighting others... Oh there is a conflict of interest, oh there is some money involved, oh maybe there is a revolving door," he concluded.
Internet reacts to Joe Rogan's clip
Within few hours, the video shared on X had more than 680K views and several comments.
A user wrote,"Joe Rogan is always speaking facts and reminds me of another version of Alex Jones but with a chiller vibe. I would love to see him and Elon do another cast."
Another user wrote, "Joe Rogan is correct. As the media became less and less trustworthy, they just added any quote to further their agenda and added a "experts say" line at the end. That line doesn't fool anyone anymore."
A user said, "The experts say anything that the people financing them want them to say nowadays."
While the next user said, "Well…… Joe essentially calls it as it is… doesn’t beat around the bush and let’s be honest….. He’s right, right?!"
