NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News Channel has reportedly maintained its lead over liberal competitors CNN and MSNBC, surpassing the combined primetime viewership of both networks throughout the month of November.
It was reported that ‘Jesse Watters Primetime’ was November’s most-watched primetime show whereas ‘Hannity’ also scored a total viewership of 2.3 million.
Following this news, Fox News host Sean Hannity took to X (formerly Twitter) to report on the dominance of the news channel with his 6.4 million followers.
However, the internet did not respond well to Hannity’s tweet as several X users bashed the news channel, saying, “hate sells.”
Sean Hannity lauds Fox News channel's dominant viewership numbers
Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X and wrote, “It was a strong November for Fox News…”
Hannity’s tweet featured an article from his official website titled, “FOX ON TOP: FNC Beats CNN and MSNBC Combined, Hannity Leading at 9pm.”
In the article, it was stated that according to the recent viewership data, Fox News remains the dominant force, outperforming both CNN and MSNBC combined in primetime viewership throughout November.
In November, ‘Jesse Watters Primetime’ claimed the title of the most-watched primetime show among total viewers on cable news, commanding an audience of 2.6 million viewers each night at 8 pm ET.
This performance far surpassed MSNBC's ‘All In with Chris Hayes’ and ‘Inside with Jen Psaki’ (which share the same timeslot during the week), with an average viewership of just 1.5 million.
CNN's ‘Anderson Cooper 360’ trailed father behind with an average of 690,000 viewers.
Moreover, ‘Hannity’ remained the most-watched host during the 9 pm ET timeslot, securing an impressive 2.3 million total viewers.
In contrast, MSNBC's combined average between ‘The Rachel Maddow Show’ and ‘Alex Wagner Tonight’ (which share the timeslot on weeknights) amounted to only 1.6 million viewers.
Meanwhile, CNN's ‘The Source with Kaitlan Collins’ averaged just 532,000 viewers.
Moreover, Fox News' Sean Hannity is concluding the month by serving as the moderator for the highly-anticipated Red vs Blue State Debate between Republican Florida Gov Ron DeSantis and Democratic California Gov Gavin Newsom on Thursday, November 30.
Besides, Fox News' dominance extends beyond the evenings, as evidenced by ‘Fox & Friends’ finishing November with a notable achievement of 1.14 million total viewers and 142,000 in the key advertiser demo during morning hours.
In contrast, ‘CNN This Morning’ lagged behind with an average of just 366,000 total viewers and a modest 72,000 in the demo.
Internet bashes Fox News as Hannity reports on their viewership
After Sean Hannity reported on Fox News leading in terms of viewership, the internet took a brutal jab at the news channel as many X users accused it of spreading “lies.”
One person wrote, “Nope it still sucks. They are the RINO of news,” and another accused, “Yes indeed it was [a strong November] lies were up 82%.”
One more X user slammed Fox News adding, “The liars keep talking but not telling truth. How is that,” and another had a similar opinion, “No doubt The biggest lies and hate were made by FOX in 2023.”
One person simply wrote, “Lies sell the best,” and another expressed a similar opinion as they noted, “Hate sells Dude.”
“When you go to the circus, the clowns and freaks always attract more attention than the lion tamers and tight-rope walkers,” said another X user, slamming the channel with their analogy.
