LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a recent episode of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', actor Simu Liu, best known for his role in Marvel’s 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings', shared a hilarious incident of accidentally getting his parents high.
The "tremendously successful actor" shared a humorous story with Jimmy Kimmel about how his parents accidentally consumed his edibles and ended up crashing his car while searching for food.
Simu Liu accidentally ended up getting his parents high
Simu Liu shared that when he left his "new house," his parents whom he dubbed as "frugal people who never paid for delivery except for one time when they ordered a pizza but it was free," tested out the apps on their phones.
"They were alone, and it's too complicated to give up," said Liu, adding that "there's really nothing in this house other than very basic furniture, some clothes, and like some edibles and things that I consume recreationally in frequently to help me relax."
Liu began his amusing narrative, saying, "My mom starts foraging around the house for things to eat and she's looking and she's looking and she finds her way into my walk-in closet where she finds what she believes cause again you know working-class immigrant that from no idea what drugs look like."
He continued, "So she finds what she thinks are gummy bears and trail mix with dried mushrooms inside she's like, 'Oh, these are snacks'."
Liu's mother then took them to his father and started "popping them like Skittles" and over the course of the night "she's like 'I'm hungrier like the more I'm eating the hungrier I'm getting and also I think I'm going to die'."
"And my dad, at this point he's like, 'We need to go to the grocery store', and my mom's like, 'Uh-huh', and so I mean it's night time they get into my car immediately crash it they did they crash it in my driveway into the shrubs and things," recounted Liu, adding, "They're so high at this point they're freaking out they don't know else to do."
He further explained, "I get home many days later and the car is total my shrubs are wrecked, my drugs are gone, I looked at my parents and I'm like, 'Okay, first of all, I am never leaving you unsupervised in my house ever again'."
"They didn't know what had happened to them for many months after because they didn't understand the concept of hallucinogenics," stated the 'Kim's Convenience' star.
