CLEVELAND, OHIO: Following one of the biggest combat sport events of 2023, it looks like Nate Diaz and Jake Paul are prepared to fight again. Both boxers had discussed competing against each other more than once before the August 5 pay-per-view match.
Diaz dismissed Paul's suggestion to hold an MMA fight under the PFL banner. But according to Paul's newly established "Most Valuable Promotions," "The Problem Child" has received an official bout contract extension from the PFL.
Jake Paul ready to fight Nate Diaz
Jake Paul previously stated he would make his mixed martial arts (MMA) debut with the PFL later this year when he signed with the organization in January 2023.
Nate Diaz, who has not yet responded to the MMA offer, has consistently expressed a preference to box Paul again. The 'announcement' that Diaz had made a few days prior prompted the tweet from Most Valuable Promotions.
The tweet read, "For the record: Jake Paul will not be boxing Nate Diaz again. Nate Diaz and Jake Paul have received an offer from @PFLMMA to rematch in MMA in the SmartCage. Jake Paul has accepted the offer."
Diaz responded on Twitter shortly after it was revealed that Paul would make his boxing comeback on December 15 against an opponent who was not yet selected.
Diaz tweeted, "Rematch wit this scared b**ch."
Nate Diaz established his own promotion, Real Fight Inc, in 2022. The PFL will probably need to work with Real Fight Inc and Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions in order to make an MMA fight happen, which could make the bout's finalization more difficult.
Even though Diaz entered their most recent battle as a significant underdog, he would surely be the clear favorite in a hypothetical mixed martial arts match.
Although Diaz has never explicitly rejected the notion of competing against Paul in his actual sport, he appeared hesitant to sign a PFL contract. Since 2006, Diaz has only competed for the UFC as a promotion.
Jake Paul's decision leaves Internet divided
Most Valuable Promotions' tweet got fans excited. A fan claimed that the match would make history, tweeting, "Now this wil be some serious history being made that require seriously large nuts."
Another user said, "Jake milking this s**t, because he knows Nate wont accept fighting for an amateur league."
A third wrote, "Nate diaz will make jake tap out in seconds nate diaz would kill him in mma."
