LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears' younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears has teamed up with Alan Bersten to show her moves in 'Dancing with the Stars' Season 32. However, Jamie received backlash for her appearance in 'DWTS'.
Jamie announced in the video, "Hi I'm Jamie Lynn Spears and I'm so excited because I'm joining the cast of 'Dancing with the Stars' and I can't wait to show you my moves," adding, "Wanna know who my partner is?" Alan entered in the frame and noted, "We're so excited."
The 'DWTS' video was captioned, "The first pairing of the #DWTS season has been revealed: @jamielynnspears and @alanbersten are ready to enter the ballroom! 🪩 Make sure to watch @goodmorningamerica tomorrow to meet the rest of the stars and their partners!"
However, the social media users appeared to be quite upset with Jamie's casting as they noted, "lmao she’s going to be voted off immediately." Another user added, "Welp we know who we’re voting out first 😂."
Another person said, "OH HELL NO. And to give her to my baby boy Alan?!?!? This is a low blow." Another Instagram user wrote, "Too bad for Alan but I hope they get eliminated first 🤞."
Another 'DWTS' viewer penned, "Sis, needs to pay the bills now. She has become more active since her sister was freed from the abusive conservatorship." Another critic commented, "Are you effing KIDDING me???? Stop giving this girl attention!!!! I’m disappointed in this program."
'Dancing With the Stars' honors Britney Spears
Jamie Lynn Spears joined 'Dancing with the Stars' just two years after the ABC show had 'Britney Spears' night. 'DWTS' Season 30 Episode 3 was dedicated to the pop singer.
The contestants were dressed as Britney and danced to her songs to send the embattled pop star support amid her ongoing conservatorship battle. Host Tyra Banks came out dressed in Britney's schoolgirl outfit from the video to her song, 'Baby One More Time'.
Tyra said during the episode, "We are all so excited to devote this entire show to the music, to the career, to the impeccable artistry of you Britney, living legend Ms. Spears. We love you." She explained that the entire show would be devoted to the 'Queen' Britney Spears.
Jamie Lynn Spears plans to donate her 'Dancing with the Stars' salary
Jamie Lynn Spears appeared on Good Morning America and revealed that she would donate her weekly salary to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA unions amid the strike.
She explained, "While everybody else in my community is on strike, I have this unique opportunity where I was offered a chance to work when my community cannot work." Jamie noted, "So, I figured I'll do this and I will donate my weekly salary... to just give back to them at a time where they can't give back to themselves."
Jamie later added, "Typically I'd be working on different ventures, but I think it’s just important that I have this opportunity. And if I get up there and even if I embarrass myself, I'm doing it for a good reason and hopefully giving back to the community that's literally given back to me since I was a little girl."
Jamie also gushed on her 'DWTS' appearance and said, "I don't know if one can ever be 100% ready to take on something this big." She further added, "I didn't realize what a commitment it is, but it definitely is. I'm ready to challenge myself."
