CANNES, FRANCE: Jeff Bezos is finally engaged to his girlfriend of five years, Lauren Sanchez, to whom he gifted a billionaire-sized diamond ring to celebrate the milestone. The Amazon founder's partner flaunted her stunning engagement ring while lounging on their $500 million yacht over the weekend at the Cannes Film Festival.
Bezos, 59, opted for a casual ensemble including a black shirt and blue jeans while Sanchez showed off her toned physique in a cropped white tank top and a low-rise, beige skirt. The main focus of her look, however, was the unmistakable diamond sparkler on her ring finger. The pair notably made an appearance at the star-studded annual film festival on Saturday, May 20, for the premiere of Martin Scorsese's 'Killers of the Flower Moon' and were seen at the event alongside Apple CEO Tim Cook.

$2.5M ring
Speaking to Page Six, Ajay Anand from Rare Carat estimated the “absolute monster” ring to have at least 20 carats and cost about a whopping $2.5 million. The stone is reportedly a slight upgrade from the 7-to 10-carat yellow, heart-shaped diamond the billionaire gifted his girlfriend back in 2019. The newly engaged couple was all smiles while aboard the luxurious boat, where they have been staying while in the South of France for the coveted film festival.
The pair have notably been celebrating their engagement by hitting the star-studded party circuit, despite keeping the relationship milestone on the down low. Bezos popped the question to Sanchez after five years of dating, and while it's unclear when exactly he got down on one knee, the pair have been spending a lot of time at sea ever since his boat was completed in March. The new yacht is said to feature a wooden sculpture made in the likeness of Sanchez. The design is attached to the ship's prow and includes a necklace featuring the symbol for Koru, which is Maori for loop or coil. According to Page Six, the sculpture is based on the spiral shape of an unfurling silver fern frond, a symbol close to their heart.
'Celebrate and grow'
Koru apparently symbolizes new beginnings, positive change, personal growth, and hope for the future. The vessel is reportedly worth half a billion dollars and will cost Bezos about $25 million a year just to run. The billionaire posted a photo of his prized yacht on Instagram on New Year's Day in a series of pictures from his disco party celebration. "The new year is also a great time to take stock and focus on personal growth, renewal, rebirth, and paying careful attention to each moment of your life," he wrote at the time. "The good and the bad. All of it. Celebrate and grow."
Before he began dating Sanchez, Bezos was married to MacKenzie Scott, with whom he parted ways in April 2019 after 25 years of marriage. The exes share four children together. Meanwhile, Sanchez settled her divorce from Patrick Whitesell in October 2019 after 13 years of marriage.
