LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: On Tuesday night, October 10, Jimmy Kimmel once more criticized former President Donald Trump for his remarks regarding the increasing turmoil in the Middle East.
Trump's unfounded claims and rhetoric in the face of the crisis have raised eyebrows. "It's crazy how much Republicans don't care about Trump's insane handling of these classified documents but do care about Joe Biden; it's almost like they're applying entirely different standards, maybe even a double standard," said Kimmel.
President Biden addressed the nation, condemning the attacks on Israel by Hamas and confirming that Americans are among those held hostage, with at least 14 Americans killed. He vowed to do everything in his power to secure the safe return of American citizens.
Kimmel calls out Trump's claims amid Middle East crisis
However, Trump's response was notably different. He said, "I kept Israel safe; nobody else will, nobody else can."
"It's pretty clear that at this point he's got no connection with reality at all," Kimmel noted.
Trump couldn't even "keep Kanye out of Mar-a-Lago," he added.
The host humorously proposed a solution: "We could build a little Oval Office in a mental institution, put him in there, and tell him he's been reinstated as president. He'd be perfectly content drawing on weather maps and pushing that little red diet coke button."
"Trump's Associates in the crazy business have been making the most of this attack on Israel ever since that Caravan of dangerous immigrants turned out to be figments of their imagination," the commentator noted.
Kimmel highlighted how Trump and far-right Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga) have used fear tactics to suggest that a similar attack could occur on US soil through undocumented immigrants arriving via the US-Mexico border.
“It's difficult to fathom that individuals would be gullible enough to accept these claims," Kimmel remarked. "Yet, when you hear Trump discussing the state of our school systems, it somehow becomes more comprehensible."
He then shared a clip of Trump complaining: "Our education system is ranked among the worst globally, known to the world."
"Sometimes, his speech appears as if it's akin to that of a malfunctioning Furby or something," quipped Kimmel.
Fans react to Jimmy Kimmel's roast of Trump
Jimmy Kimmel's takedown of the former President has triggered a wave of reactions from fans and observers.
One fan humorously pointed out the paradox in Trump's statements, saying, "Trump: I made America great when I was president. Also Trump: we have the worst education system in the whole world."
Another comment mockingly addressed Trump's response to the Israel-Hamas conflict, "Me: Hey Donald, what do you think about Hamas attacking Israel? Trump: There are fine people on both sides."
Another simply stated, "Trump and MTG are awful as per usual."
One observant commenter amusingly pointed out Trump's contradictory stance on the border wall issue, saying, "It's funny how if you ask Trump, he built the whole wall when he was president, but in the next minute he says that millions of people are coming through the southern border. So either he didn't build the wall or the wall that he built is ineffective."
Another remarked, "Strap on your Kevlar McRib Rambo and get over there. I mean, those writers deserved everything they got!!"
