LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kevin Costner and ex-wife Christina Baumgartner, 49 got hitched in September 2004 after six years of dating. They had been married for 18 years and were together for almost 24 before breaking up in May. Since the news of the divorce broke on media outlets, people have been curious to learn how Costner felt after Baumgartner presented him with divorce papers on May 2, 2023. But according to reports from last week, the 69-year-old actor "wasn't shocked," even if it allegedly came as an "unpleasant surprise."
The painful divorce papers which shocked Costner and created the possibility of a fight over his $250 million wealth have been obtained by RadarOnline.com. His long-time wife obliquely leaves out the prenuptial contract they signed before their 2004 marriage while alleging insurmountable disparities in the divorce papers. Costner is reportedly "concerned" that Christine "is making moves to challenge the prenup."

What do the divorce documents claim?
Baumgartner mentioned in the "Separate Property" section of the court document, "Petitioner asks leave of court to amend this when same is ascertained; Petitioner's nature and extent of separate property assets and debts are unknown to Petitioner at this time." 'The Field of Dreams' star used the "Separate Property" part of the prenup to dispel any misconceptions about how the couple's property would be divided, as reported by Radio Online. "Miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects; Respondent's earnings and accumulations before marriage, during the marriage, and from and after the date of separation; [and] there are additional separate property assets and obligations of each party as mandated by the parties' Premarital Agreement," wrote Costner's renowned celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser.
The former couple share three children Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 12, together Mirror reports. Baumgartner again expressed uncertainty regarding the "Community and Quasi-Community Property" - repeating the same phrase for separate property - despite the fact that both parties agreed to split custody of their children. However, the Dances With Wolves actress snapped back, saying, "Petitioner to vacate Respondent's separate property residences pursuant to the terms in Paragraph 9.A of the parties' Premarital Agreement."
Prenup stipulates parameters of spousal support
Baumgartner wants her ex to cover all legal bills, but Costner, who doesn't mince words, shot back, "Attorneys’ fees and costs payable pursuant to the terms of the parties’ Premarital Agreement." The records also demonstrate that 'The Bodyguard' thinks the prenup stipulates the parameters of "spousal support."
