NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ moderator Kristen Welker recently joined ‘Today’ with Willie Geist to provide her insights on the Biden administration's response to the Hamas attack on Israel and its potential impact on POTUS' re-election bid.
Welker reported on the ongoing Israel war and informed the viewers about the attacks after Hamas launched a surprise multi-front attack from Gaza which has reportedly killed more than 300 and wounded at least 1500 people, as per 'Meet The Press'.
Since 1973, it has been the largest attack on the state of Israel and the attack began when Hamas militants invaded southern Israel by land, sea, and air, and fired thousands of rockets deep into the country.
In response to the war, President Joe Biden had an "urgent" call with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and stated, “The United States stands with Israel,” as per CNN.
Kristen Welker talks about how Israel war may impact President Joe Biden’s re-election bid
On Sunday, October 8 on ‘Today’, Willie Geist brought in ‘Meet The Press’ host Kristen Welker, who shared her opinion on President Joe Biden’s playout in elections following the ongoing Israel war.
Geist questioned Welker, “As we said earlier, President Biden condemned these attacks unequivocally. This does play into his re-election campaign, with Donald Trump already attacking Joe Biden. How will this play out?”
To this, Welker responded by greeting Geist, “Willie, good morning to you.”
She continued, “There’s no doubt this is a major test for President Biden. Remember he campaigned on a promise of bringing stability and strength to US Foreign Policy. So, this throws that into question.”
“You’re right, former President Trump and other GOP rivals have bounced on the Biden Administration Foreign Policy saying ‘This is a sign of weakness’, taking direct aim at that deal that was struck with Iran in which the US was able to secure the release of five detainees in exchange for some Iranian detainees and $6 billion, they say will be used for humanitarian funds,” Welker further added.
She continued, “But Republicans, without any evidence are saying that money helped to fund this attack."
She added, "The administration is forcefully firing back against that allegation, making the point that, look, Iran has not yet seen a cent of that money, but it makes the point, Willie. This is going to be front and center on the campaign trail. There’s no doubt about that.”
Internet dubs Kristen Welker ‘terrible’ after her remarks on Joe Biden
After Kristen Welker shared her thoughts on Joe Biden’s re-election campaign on ‘Today’ show, the internet furiously slammed the former morning show host as one person wrote, “Yet another reason not to watch. Thanks!”
One more added, “@kwelkernbc you are a Fox News entertainment propaganda clown,” and another called out Welker saying, “Hate to say it as a so/so Welker fan, but the show is now unwatchable.”
A person simply said, “I’m beginning to really dislike and distrust Kristen Welker,” and one wrote, “Welker is a massive failure.”
One more added, “Welker has been consistently terrible for years in her "both sides" take and aggressive push of right-wing talking points in the form of a question.”
