LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bronny James Jr, 18, the son of NBA star LeBron James, attended his high school senior prom with his White date, Peyton Gelfuso, 19. However, the photo of them at the event sparked several racist comments online.
People bashed Bronny for not picking a Black girl and accused Gelfuso of being with him for his money. Some people defended them and said they should be left alone. This is the second year in a row that Bronny has taken Gelfuso to prom, as per reports.

She is a former student of his school and now attends Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Bronny is a rising basketball player who has committed to play at the University of Southern California next season. In a widely circulated photo on social media, people commented, "Boyyy! Better not fall for it! She [ money] hungry." One social media user remarked, "Bronny you can do better than that! Wow, look at your Dad and Mom! Come on! Not a good look!..." while another user wrote, "If it ain’t snowing, he ain’t going."
One person commented, "She's preparing for her financial future. In a couple of years of dating, she'll be wanting half of his money for supporting him in whatever he does." All he’s doing is standing posing for a picture with her," One more accused of her being money hungry, "She’s seeing them dollar signs," to which a user replied, "Her dad is the GM for the Lakers. She is already rich."

The trolls continued to accuse them and even suggested she was way too older, "I don't care that she's white but she looks way older. How old is she?." Nothing to see here." One more user accused her by saying, "Remember, rich and wealthy white girls don't get with black men She on the come up. I'm sure the James family knows that." One user wrote, "New black money and white money do not operate the same that’s for sure smh." Another user assured, "People on here losing their minds. He's going to PROM, not marrying her and giving her his family's wealth."
'Stop making everything a race issue'
There were some who called out the racist comments as one wrote, "Is it just me or does he look happy or at least content in all his pics except the 1 with her lol. Idc what race anyone dates but his face isn’t the same in the pic with her as the others lol. Few defended by writing, Beautiful date congratulations the race DONT matter stop making everything a race issue! If he like her he like her so what."
The pair received a lot of hate last year
A report in the Daily Mail said Bronny's mom and LeBron's wife, Savannah James also shared James's pictures from the prom, however, she neglected her date. "Lost for words on this one," she captioned the photos. "The best prom outfit of ALL TIME. Insane,' was the caption James's dad LeBron gave to his photos on Instagram, however even he didn't post any of the pictures of Peyton. Also, neither Peyton nor James's posted any of the pictures together from the Prom. The people noted that it was due to a lot of hate they had already received when they had gotten together earlier in the past. Bronny attended Peyton's senior prom as her date, the rumored couple was put into a similar situation, the media outlet reported.
