LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Daily Show' host and comedian Leslie Jones brought her unique brand of humor to the political arena with a hilarious jab on Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla) when he attempted to engage in a physical altercation with labor union leader Sean O'Brien during a committee hearing.
The fiery back-and-forth reportedly kicked off when Mullin recited a tweet that O'Brien had posted about him in June.
"What a clown, a fraud. Always has been, always will be. Quit the tough guy act in these Senate hearings. You know where to find me. Any place, anytime cowboy," said Mullin.
Following this, Mullin challenged Mr O'Brien to a physical confrontation during the hearing, stating, "Sir, this is a time, this is a place, if you want to run your mouth, we can be two consenting adults, we can finish it here."
Mullin stood up from his chair, only to be interrupted by Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders, the committee's chairman, who instructed him to resume his seat, BBC.
Leslie Jones mocks Sen Markwayne Mullin
Jones began her comedic routine by poking fun at Mullin's name, eliciting laughter from the audience.
"His parents didn’t even love him enough to pick one name for him. They just shoved two names together and called it a day," she stated.
"'Calm down, Markwayne' isn't some shit I want to hear on C-SPAN. It’s what you hear when you watch an episode of ‘COPS,'" she added.
Subsequently, the actress pondered over what this incident signified for the country. In the end, she listed the three US Senators she would like to challenge to a duel.
"Is that what America has come to, people fighting in the Senate?" she questioned. "Because if it is, I want in!" "Lindsey Graham, I want you in the ring!" she insisted.
"Ted Cruz, bring your weird-ass beard so I can beat your ass," she said.
She initially expressed a desire to confront Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) but reconsidered when an image of the legislator was displayed. "Aww, somebody already hit him," Jones joked.
