LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Live with Mark and Kelly’ most certainly hits the sweet spot when it comes to having a good fan following and strong viewership. While most of the credit goes to Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa, occasionally, the guests spruce up the live show as well. This most certainly was the case on Thursday, June 8, when the hosts welcomed their guest, Mason Parris.
Mark might look like a tough guy, especially if you have watched him play Hiram Lodge on ‘Riverdale’ but when it comes to fighting a college wrestler, he’s not all that tough. ‘Live with Mark and Kelly’s very physical segment featured Mark getting body slammed as he struggled to get up. Despite the physical pain, at least Mark and Kelly continue to remain creative with their segments, trying to keep that viewership intact!
Who is Mason Parris?
For those of you who aren't aware of just who Parris is, you know, the man who slammed Mark to the ground, is 6'2 tall to begin with. Mark stands at 5'8, already giving Parris a huge advantage, quite literally. Parris is an American athlete, whose focus is primarily on wrestling. In fact, he also previously signed to the WWE NIL program, a program that serves to recruit potential future stars. Undoubtedly, Parris is incredibly skilled when it comes to wrestling, and that was glaring visible on 'Live with Mark and Kelly'. Parris is also the 2023 Dan Hodge Trophy winner and NCAA heavyweight champion. Although Parris had the upper hand in this fight with Mark, it made for an incredibly entertaining segment.
Parris body slams Mark
The wrestling match between Parris and Mark was one of the most entertaining moments that ‘Live with Mark and Kelly’ has witnessed so far. While one couldn’t help but feel bad for Mark, the fact that he had a smile on his face even while being slammed onto the ground, over and over again, really kept the spirits high. Mark definitely proved his sportsmanship in this episode, and despite having a disadvantage to Parris, he most certainly put up a fight. Mark might have lost in wrestling, but he definitely won hearts, especially that of his wife, Kelly. Mark gained a hugely positive reaction from the live audience when he ended the match by lifting Kelly up and throwing her over his shoulders, as he spun her around. That’s the win Mark needed!
