LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Snoop Dogg, the legendary rapper and cannabis enthusiast, shocked his fans when he posted a video on his social media accounts saying that he was “giving up smoke."
Many speculated if he had decided to quit smoking weed which is his trademark and a part of his identity.
Snoop Dogg becomes the 'smokesman' of Solo Stove
However, it now seems that the announcement was actually a clever ad for a smokeless fire pit from Solo Stove, a company that makes outdoor products.
Snoop Dogg offered a clarification saying "I know what you [must be thinking],' Snoop, smoke is kind of your whole thing'" in the marketing video posted on Instagram.
But he said he was done with "coughing and clothes smelling all sticky, icky," saying " I am going smokeless," as the camera pans to the firepit in front of him. "Clever," he say laughing at the end of the video praising the manufacturers for "taking out the smoke."
Snoop Dogg said 'I love a good fire outside but the smoke was too much'
In an announcement by the Solo Stove, Snoop said, "I love a good fire outside but the smoke was too much. Solo Stove fixed fire and took out the smoke."
"They changed the game and now I'm excited to spread the love and stay warm with my friends and family," he said, according to PR News Wire.
He will be the official 'smokesman' for Solo Stove the company announced. He will partner with the company on smokeless product innovation and contribute toward designing a new signature line of Snoop Dogg x Solo Stove products.
"We're stoked to have a product so good, it even inspired Snoop to go smokeless," John Merris, CEO of Solo Brands said.
The first product of the collaboration is a limited edition bundle that includes a Bonfire Fire Pit designed by Snoop, a fire pit stand, a Snoop bucket hat, and a Snoop x Solo sticker pack.
