BRENTWOOD, CALIFORNIA: After six years of being on 'American Idol', Katy Perry wants to quit the show as she believes she is always "thrown under the bus by producers" who she thinks have purposefully made her look like the "nasty judge."
Sources said that the pop star has become tired of all the controversies this season and she has been subject to backlash from viewers mostly when she criticizes contestants. Despite the 38-year-old singing sensation being slammed in the previous seasons, the source noted that she went through a tough time this season and she was also involved in a mom-shaming scandal, reported Daily Mail.

'Katy's wanted out for some time now'
Talking about Katy's time on the show this season where she was booed by viewers all season, the insider said, "Katy feels like [the producers] threw her under the bus. She feels like her comments could have been removed."
"Katy became aware of the harsh criticism. Getting booed really upset her. She was trying to stay in her lane, do her job, and go home. She went into it thinking she was going to foster young talent. For her good intentions to be misinterpreted it was not what she wanted," the source continued.
"She has accomplished so much in her career and is now being looked at as a nasty reality show judge. Katy's wanted out for some time now, but this season was way too much for her to handle," according to the insider.
Fans wanted Katy to be 'replaced'
At the start of Season 21, Katy told 25-year-old Sara Beth Liebe that she had been "laying on the table too much" following which the singer was accused of "mom-shaming" the mother of three children. During Hollywood week, the songwriter told Nutsa Buzaladze and Carina DeAngelo that their performance at the show was "underwhelming" and added that the struggling 25-year-old performers' "energy was broken."
Following both incidents, Katy was criticized on social media where fans said they wanted her to be "replaced." She was also dragged into the "rigging" backlash that came after Iam Tongi was crowned this year. The pop star has now decided to quit the show that reportedly paid her $25-million-per-season, the source told the media outlet.
"It's not her fault. The devil made her do it," a user wrote on Twitter while another user tweeted, "Bye Bye @katyperry
- won't miss you after you had a dig at #Meghan's dress." Another fan wrote, "I hope she leaves this shitshow for good."
