WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO: Former golfer-turned-influencer Paige Spiranac is all in praise for Lexi Thompson's impressive performance at the 2023 Shriners Children's Open.
Despite playing two rounds at the PGA Tour events and missing the cut, Lexi made a lasting impression with her incredible strokes.
Thompson played the first round of 73, however, and her game improved in the second round when she settled for a score of 69.

Paige Spiranac shared a short clip of Thompson playing at the Shriners Children's Open on her X (formerly Twitter) account.
She wrote, “Lexi is absolutely crushing it. Yes she is playing the same tees as the men."
On Thursday, October 12, Thompson got her game going by paring the first hole. She then recorded a birdie on hole number two and a bogey on hole number three.
She then recorded a double bogey on the seventh hole, a bogey on the eighth, a birdie on the ninth, and a bogey on the last hole. After recording three birdies, three bogeys, and a double bogey in the opening round, the American finished with a score of 73.
After two consecutive birdies on the first two holes of the second round, Thompson added bogeys on the fifth and eighth holes. On Friday, October 13, she recorded three birdies on the back nine to finish with a score of 69 and a final total of 142. Her score, however, was insufficient for her to advance in the competition.
Lexi Thompson played against men at 2023 Shriners Children's Open
At the 2023 Shriners Children's Open on October 13, Lexi Thompson gave a performance worth seeing. She finished with a 2-under 69 in a strong field of PGA Tour players after making two really spectacular birdies.
However, a few poor putts on the mid-holes dashed her hopes of making the cut in the competition.
Following the second round, Thompson had a conversation with the media. She shared her experience of playing in a men's tournament (via Sport Star).
She said, "Playing with the guys, amazing feeling. Growing up with guys, I’ve always wanted to be out on a PGA Tour event and tee it up. But the biggest thing was seeing the kids out there outside the ropes and then meeting a few of the Shriners ambassadors. That was the most special.”
Cameron Champ tied Lanto Griffin for the lead after 36 holes at the 2023 Shriners Children's Open. With a one-stroke advantage over Henrik Norlander, they had to settle for a score of under twelve.
