ISCHIA, ITALY: Ray Stevenson, the Volstagg of ‘Thor’ has died at age 58. He was known for his burly built, strong voice and recently played the despicable governor in the recent Oscar-winning flick ‘RRR.’ Stevenson died on Sunday, May 21, just four days before his birthday, according to his publicist Nicki Fioravante.
La Repubblica, an Italian newspaper reported that the actor had been hospitalized on the island of Ischia, while he was part of ‘Cassino on Ischia,’ directed by Frank Ciota. The 6’ 3’’ tall actor with his unique demeanor got fans engaged and recently made a public appearance at Star Wars Celebration in April. He plays one of the leading antagonists in the upcoming Star Wars series ‘Ahsoka,’ as per The Hollywood Reporter. “Getting to wield the light saber is just the best feeling in the world. The first time they handed it to for the camera test, I couldn’t help myself, I made the noise,” he shared.

Who was Ray Stevenson?
Stevenson made his major break with morally questionable soldier Titus Pullo on the 2005-07 HBO series ‘Rome.’ After working in the big-budget series, he was next featured in ‘Punisher: War Zone’ (2008) as Marvel anti-hero Frank Castle.
For his current project, ‘Cassino on Ischia,’ the 58-year-old was playing the character of an older action movie star, in a desperate attempt to revamp his career by doing some challenging film.
