SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH: 'The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City' star Meredith Marks recently took a stand regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict. However, the Bravo star's position didn't seem to go down well on social media.
The reality star took to her Instagram and shared a series of quotes by officials of the Palestinian militant group Hamas. She started her post with a statement, "October 7, 2023, more Jews were slaughtered than on any other single day since the Holocaust."
Meredith also shared a flag of Israel to show her support for the country. Alongside the post, the reality star penned, "I have no words. #heatbroken #stopthehate."
However, Instagram users slammed Meredith for supporting Israel and wrote, "This isn’t about politics it’s about the bloody murder of 1,000+ innocent civilians." Another person added, "So many innocent human beings on both sides being slaughtered, This is horrific this needs to stop."
Another user said, "It's important to stand for peace, not hatred." Another follower stated, "Horrific! We are living in a world still with hatred! [facepalm emoji] horrible."
Another critic commented, "Stand against HATE!" Another criticized her for posting the quotes, writing, "Don’t amplify those vile voices by sharing their vitriol! Don’t give them that power!!" One person simply wrote, "Unfollowing you pathetic post."
Israel-Palestine conflict has claimed thousands of lives
The Israel-Palestinian conflict has claimed thousands of lives and displaced many millions of people. Israel has recently declared war on the Gaza Strip after an unprecedented attack by the armed Palestinian militant group Hamas.
According to the reports, the Palestinian militant group killed more than 1,200 Israelis in assaults on multiple towns in southern Israel on the fifth day of the war. In response, Israel has launched airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, killing more than 900 Palestinians.
Meredith Marks feels it's important to show Judaism's 'history and heritage' on 'RHOSLC'
The 'Real Housewives of Salt Lake City' has been centered on culture and religion and the way they shape women's lives since Season 1. Therefore, it's no surprise that conversations about religion are a regular fixture on the Bravo show.
Meredith Marks has previously shared that she wanted the viewers to know the "history and heritage" of Judaism. During Season 2 of the Bravo show, a Shabbat dinner was premiered and Meredith explained that she was excited for educating viewers about her culture.
Meredith admitted in the previous interview, "It was lovely for me to have it televised because a lot of people out there don't know very much about Judaism, or know very little about Shabbat."
She explained, "I thought it was very nice to get the message out there." However, Meredith further declared, "I'm very proud to be a Jew," and also expressed her passion about the "history and heritage" of Judaism.
