ATLANTA, GEORGIA: In a newly filed countersuit, Sade Bagnerise, the ex-girlfriend of singer Ne-Yo, is seeking primary physical custody of their two children while agreeing to share joint legal custody. Sade spoke out about their court proceedings and shared her concerns about the company Ne-Yo keeps. She also revealed that she privately apologized to Ne-Yo's ex-wife, Crystal Renay, for her role in their divorce.
"In fairness to him, IN THAT REGARD, he has ALWAYS been physically, emotionally and FINANCIALLY responsible for both Braiden and Brixton from the moment he's known about the first pregnancy," Sade wrote in a statement via Instagram Stories as per RadarOnline.
'This man is and has always been a proud pappy'
Sade told the court that Ne-Yo should be awarded every other weekend visitation along with alternating holiday parenting time. Sade, as per the media outlet, made no mention of Ne-Yo's prior demand for a DNA test on the youngest child but clearly stated, "[Ne-Yo] is the biological father of the parties' minor children."
Sade clarified that Ne-Yo never denied or questioned their children to her and described him as a proud father. She stated, "This man is and has always been a proud pappy. He be scandalous affff lmao but he does right by ALL his kids." Sade emphasized that they have nothing to do with financial support. She further claimed that Ne-Yo is seeking legitimization for his legal rights to their children so that "both can have his last name." Sade highlighted that their priority is maintaining a cordial co-parenting relationship.
'I genuinely wholeheartedly believe that he is going through a midlife crisis'
Ne-Yo previously filed documents seeking joint physical and legal custody of their children, as well as requesting the court to determine a monthly child support rate. Sade turned to social media to seek support for Ne-Yo, urging fans to be "kind" instead of "tearing him down." "I keep trying to talk and knock the sense into him but I need help," Sade continued. "I genuinely wholeheartedly believe that he is going through a midlife crisis and he won't listen to the FEW OF US who keep trying to help him with accountability and his addiction(s)," she added.
'Everyone close to him agrees that they no longer recognize the person he has become'
Sade expressed concern about the changes she has witnessed in Ne-Yo's behavior and attributed it to the company he keeps. She claimed that they encourage his "erratic and embarrassing behavior and [sex] addiction." According to her, everyone close to him agrees that they no longer recognize the person he has become. Ne-Yo and Crystal Renay were married in February 2016 and finalized their divorce in February 2023, six months after Crystal accused Ne-Yo of fathering a child with another woman.
