LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sandra Bullock is facing the biggest challenge of her life after losing her longtime partner Bryan Randall who died in September from ALS.
The actress, who shared a home with Bryan and her two adopted children, Louis and Laila, is trying to move forward with her life, and is "smiling again" but the loss of her soul mate has broken her heart.
How Sandra Bullock is coping with the grief?
“Sandra has recently been able to begin smiling again" but she “hasn’t fully processed it all. It’s still very raw, said an insider.
"She dealt with his care and all of the stress that came along with that, and it wasn’t easy,” an insider told Life & Style.
“She’s doing what he always told her to do, though — breathing and taking life one day at a time,” the source said, adding that Sandra, who turns 60 in July, feels like she’s starting over again at 59.
“After all the heartache she’s experienced,” including a divorce from cheating husband Jesse James, 54, in 2010. Bryan was someone she never thought she’d find,” eexplained he insider.
“They were perfect for each other. Now Sandra feels like she’s starting over again at 59," the insider added.
How is Sandra Bullock supporting her children?
Sandra’s main priority now is to protect and comfort her family, especially her children, Louis, 11, and Laila, nine, who adored Bryan and saw him as their father figure.
The children “were extremely close to Bryan,” said the insider, adding “It’s been very difficult for them, but Sandra’s been there every moment.”
The insider further revealed to the publication that Sandra and her kids are getting the support they need, which includes family therapy.
“Sandra believes in talking about Bryan, opening up about their feelings toward him, how they miss him and how they’ll keep his memory alive," the insider said.
Sandra also wants to make sure that Bryan’s daughter from a previous relationship, Skylar, 28, feels welcome in her family. “Sandra and Skylar are close,” reveals the insider.
“They bonded pretty quickly after she and Bryan got together, and she’ll always be a part of the family," the insider continued.
How is Sandra Bullock moving forward with her life?
Sandra knows that life goes on, even without Bryan, and she’s determined to honor his legacy by living fully and happily.
She’s planning to make the upcoming holidays special, even when she knows "it is going to feel empty without him around," with little tributes to Bryan, who loved to celebrate with the children.
“Everywhere you look you see Bryan,” noted he insider adding “He loved the holidays and always helped the kids with decorating.”
Sandra is also slowly returning to work, as several projects are lined up, including a Netflix thriller with Brad Pitt and a romantic comedy with Channing Tatum.
She’s grateful for the support of her friends and colleagues who have been checking on her and sending her love, the insider said.
However, Sandra is not ready to date again, and she may never be. “Dating is the last thing on her mind. Bryan is in her thoughts at all times,” said the insider.
“Sandra’s heart has been shattered by the loss of Bryan,” aacknowledged he insider, adding “Right now, she’s just learning to live again.”
