LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Emma Watson, who is known for her feminist activism, faced people’s wrath online after she promoted Brad Pitt’s new gin brand amid Angelina Jolie’s domestic abuse allegations against him. The ‘Harry Potter' star, 33, promoted Pitt’s brand after she announced her partnership with her brother Alex Watson to launch their new gin brand, Renais.
Following the announcement, Watson, who was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women in 2014, took to her Instagram story to promote Pitt’s new gin brand. The ‘Moneyball’ star apparently collaborated with the proprietors of a French vineyard, Famille Perrin, to launch the Gardener, which is described as "a reflection of the beauty and allure of the French Riviera." Earlier this week, the Gardener's Instagram page shared a photo of the actor with his partner and a bottle of the gin with the caption: "Conceived by Brad Pitt and the Famille Perrin, The Gardener is a quest for perfection dreamed up by friends who share a love for the French Riviera."

On May 11, Watson commented on the post to welcome Pitt to the gin-making family. “@thegardener_gin Welcome from Chablis Brad! 💛 Do you also have an annoying younger brother who’s obsessed with niche beverages? @alex.s.watson” the actress wrote, to which her brother replied, “@emmawatson First rule of French gin club is: you DO tell everyone about French gin club.” Watson then brought attention to the comments by sharing a screenshot of them beneath the photo of Pitt on her Instagram story, as per KoiMoi.
Angelina Jolie's allegations against Brad Pitt
The story soon garnered immense social media attention, with many users calling Watson out for supporting Brad's fresh business in the midst of his ex-wife Angelina Jolie's domestic violence charges against him. Last year, legal documents revealed that Jolie accused her ex-husband of choking one of their children and punching another in the face on a private jet journey in 2016 – just days before she filed for divorce. She also claimed in the documents that Brad "grabbed" her by the head and "shook her," spilled beer on her, and poured red wine on their children, according to Buzzfeed.
