NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former ‘Good Morning America’ meteorologist Sam Champion took a trip down memory lane on Eyewitness News when he shared a clip from 2002 talking about the San Genaro Feast from the studio desk at ABC7 NY.
The 62-year-old has embarked on an unexplored adventure recently, taking up a new gig as the co-host of Eyewitness News mornings at 10 am while pushing the 'Tamron Hall Show' to the 2 pm slot.
Champion had co-hosts Shirleen Alcott and Mike Marzaa next to him when Marzaa brought up the San Gennaro festival that the former ‘GMA’ meteorologist had been a fan of for years.
Marzaa then played a clip from 20 years ago for the viewers where a young Champion was seen sitting behind the ABC desk, shelling out his liking for the festival.

Champion professed his love for the San Gennaro feast, held in New York every year in an old clip shared on the show.
In this vintage clip, Champion can be seen talking about the best neighborhood parties in New York and speaking highly about the San Gennaro feast.
Sharing his excitement, Champion said, “I mean run. Do not walk.”
A thunderous laugh can be heard over the video which was Champion reacting to the statement he made 20 years ago.
The clip then was edited to create a mashup of the line that Champion uttered 20 years ago, leading to a hilarious outcome, leaving everyone in the studio in complete splits.
Marzaa said that the DJ mashup of the clip was outstanding and Alcott who was sitting next to Champion, hilariously admitted that it was “brutal” to watch.
However, Alcott later complimented Champion and stated that he “still looks the same” after all those years.
The hosts then spoke about the food on the San Gennaro feast that they like, forcing Champion to state that the clip was totally "hysterical.”
