LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Christmas has come early for the Swifties after Taylor Swift’s ‘The Eras Tour’ concert movie hit the theaters on October 13.
Adding to their celebration are the theater chains that have allowed the cinemagoers to sing and dance inside the halls. This has made a large section of the fans go gaga over the ‘Lover’ singer and the theater chains’ generosity.
While the distributors have left no stone unturned to make the movie an eclectic experience, there are certain guidelines you have to follow while going to watch the ‘The Eras Tour’ movie.
What are you allowed to do inside the theaters?
The concert movie is being played at the AMC, Regal, Cinemark, and their affiliate theaters.
Per AMC’s website, which is also the distributor of the movie, the fans are allowed “to share friendship bracelets.”
They have specifically encouraged the fans to “dance and sing along.” However, going by the general consensus of the netizens, while the fans are welcome to enjoy singing along, it’s better not to scream inside the theater.
AMC has issued a guideline that said, “We encourage dancing and singing throughout this concert film event, but please do not dance on our seats or block other guests from viewing, safely walking or exiting the auditorium.”
The theater chain has also said, “Feel free to take selfies and group photos, but you may not record the concert film on our big screen.”
To round up, AMC said, “Have the best time, but please be respectful of other guests enjoying the concert film.”
Swifties over the moon as movie turns into concert experience
Swifties around the nation have praised the theater chain for allowing singing and dancing in the auditorium.
One of the fans said, "They're so kind for letting us to enjoy."
"I love how she’s doing all this and just acting like it’s not literally her on screen lol," said another fan.
Someone else added, "Mother is mothering."
Another remarked in a pragmatic way, "There were these little girls dancing and singing which was fine but they were pointing the flash on the screen which was incredibly distracting. I think it’s ok to have fun but also just be mindful."
Another welcomed the move by the theater while adding, "I think they should have designated “sing and stand up and dance” shows and “sit down and listen” shows."
A fan who just attended the film in the theater added, "It was an amazing experience. My whole theater was cheering and clapping and singing and dancing and there will never ever be another experience like this one my only real regret is not being able to attend the actual tour."
Someone else shared their experience, saying, "Oh yes they do, at my theater they even allowed people to stand up and dance but just on the side (stairs next to the walls) so they wouldnt be blocking the view for people behind them."
Someone who had a different experience shared, "Sing, dance, and take stills - yes. Record the movie - no. Saw a person get busted for doing so at the theater tonight."
"I went tonight and it was so much fun!! I felt like I was really at the concert sang my heart out!!" said another Swiftie.
"Someone in the front row of my showing was live streaming it. We really got the true Eras experience," said another.
"Even the theater / cinema staffs came out from their offices to sing dance and record with us tho," shared a fan.
Another said, "You’re actually not supposed to record the movie that’s illegal for all movies but you can take selfies and video yourself though. Like I’m not gonna tell on anybody but that’s the rules."
