LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift's Eras Tour concert film could be the first documentary to break into the elite $1 billion box office club upon it's release as it already hit pre-sale records with Cinemark, a theater chain with about 500 locations, CNN reported.
The theater chain revealed that 'Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour' ticket sales is 'setting domestic presale records' with demand '10 times higher' than any other film released through the company.
As per the outlet, it also mentioned that the reaction of the pre-sale records has 'blown everyone away.'
According to industry experts, the concert film, which will be screened in some theaters in both IMAX and standard versions, is expected to rake in between $100 million to $125 million in its opening weekend, the outlet noted.
AMC Theatres also reports record-breaking pre-sales for Eras Tour concert film
Swift's upcoming concert film has toppled box-office records even before it's release and Cinemark is not the only theater chain to experience the iconic moment.
AMC Theaters also recorded an increase in sales due to 'Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour' and previously announced that the concert film has "shattered records for single-day advance ticket sales revenue."
The company reported that the film sold tickets worth $26 million on the first day when presales went live on August 31.
As the upcoming movie broke the single-day record less than three hours after tickets became available, AMC Theatres had to add extra showtimes wherever possible.
"AMC is… aware that no ticketing system in history seems to have been able to accommodate the soaring demand from Taylor Swift fans when tickets are first placed on sale," the company said in a statement after the announcement of the concert movie.
When did Taylor Swift announce Eras Tour concert film?
Swift sent fans into a frenzy after announcing 'Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour' in her social media channels alongside the official trailer of the concert film on August 31.

Starting Oct 13th you’ll be able to experience the concert film in theaters in North America! Tickets are on sale now. Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged. 1, 2, 3 LGB!!!! (iykyk)," she wrote at the time.
An advertisement for the film even aired during NBC’s 'Sunday Night Football' last weekend, a match Swift attended to possibly cheer for the Kansas City Chiefs amid her rumored romance with football tight end Travis Kelce.
When and where will 'Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour' release?

Directed by Sam Welch, who is known for his work on concert films for artists like Billie Eilish and Lizzo, the film will document the Eras Tour, which is Swift's sixth headlining concert tour and her most expansive one yet.

Beyonce set to release concert film similar to 'Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour'
Similar to Swift's concert film, fellow music superstar Beyonce is also set to release a concert film documenting her Renaissance World Tour.
Beyonce's film is set to premiere on December 1. The ticket pre-sales for the movie began on Monday, October 2.
According to CNN, Swift and Beyonce's film would bring hope for theaters that experienced a potentially grim season amid the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
In addition to Swift and Beyonce's upcoming films, theatres also benefitted from 'Barbie,' a film helmed by female director Greta Gerwig and actress Margot Robbie, which hit the $1 billion global box office mark barely three weeks into its run.
As per the publication, an approximate of only 50 films in history, adjusted for inflation, have reached the benchmark. 'Barbie' has reportedly made more than $630 million in the US box office since its release in July.
