LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It will be a sad day for fans when ‘Ted Lasso’ hangs up his boots and bids farewell to our TV screens. For three seasons, the coach with the thick Southern accent has made us laugh, cry and cheer for him every time he was on screen. What he often lacks in knowledge, he makes up for with optimism, and this is the show’s pitch to all of us. It’s a solid pitch and one we can easily get on board with, but when reminded of the day that Ted and AFC Richmond will only exist in our memory, is a thought worth throwing away.
Season 3 is almost over. With just two episodes left, netizens are disappointed that the show will go off air after the third season but as Ted would have it, "believe" and it might just happen. So fans of the show still do believe that there will be a fourth season if all works out. However, the latest episode, titled ‘International Break’, brought the stories of many of the supporting characters to an end. If they have received closure to a certain extent, it’s only fair for any of us to see Ted get the same treatment. However, it seems like what Ted has in store for himself is not something that the fans would root for.

Is Ted going back to America?
The penultimate episode, titled ‘Mom City', is expected to turn the focus back on Ted. The story arcs of many of the supporting characters concluded in the previous episode when Rebecca got the better of Edwin Akufo, Roy Kent and Keeley Jones reunited, and Nathan Shelley quit West Ham United to achieve his lifelong dream of playing the violin. However, the next episode is expected to witness the arrival of Ted’s mother. The coach shares a close bond with his mother, especially after his father died when he was a teenager. It’s difficult for him to turn any of her wishes down.
Ted’s mother could be coming to England to remind him of the family he’s left behind, especially his son. After watching his ex-wife taking a trip to Paris with her boyfriend, Ted contemplated his life choices and decided to focus on his son. This thought about his son may have lost some its potency but his mother's arrival may rejuvenate the idea to return home to his son. This could mean the end of Ted’s time in England and a heartfelt goodbye to AFC Richmond, something that many don’t want to witness. Ted will have to make a decision that may alter the fate of the Premier League.
Jamie Tart revisits his past
Jamie will learn about Keeley and Roy’s reunion which shouldn’t have a major impact on him but a visit to Manchester and facing the team that he left to re-join Richmond, is sure to add fireworks in the press conferences in the upcoming episode. There’s nothing that Jamie wouldn’t do to leave his mark on the pitch against the team that didn’t want him.
