LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Fans of 'The Golden Bachelor' have accused producers of forcing a terrified Gerry Turner to drive without headlights on a harrowing date.
Viewers have been loving the senior ABC star's search for love, with some even falling down in tears during the premiere.
'The Golden Bachelor' viewers got to watch Gerry, 72, go out on what should have been a lovely date on October 5 all-new episode.
However, things took a scary turn when the midwestern native realized that the sports automobile he was driving himself and his suitor - Theresa Nist - lacked headlights.
Gerry was clearly nervous as they drove down an unfamiliar roadway in California in the dark.
Theresa, for her part, tried to console him by resting an arm on his shoulder as he pushed through.
They arrived safely at their destination, a diner, but watchers were taken aback by the terrifying scene.
Several people pointed out that the act was not only hazardous but also unlawful.
A driver found driving without headlights in California will be fined $230 for breaking Vehicle Code 24250 VC. They will also incur a point on their driving record.
On X, fans wrote, "Y’all made Gerry drive on a California highway with NO HEADLIGHTS?! In a convertible?! UNSAFE ABC!!!"
Another user chimed in, "Here's an idea, #TheGoldenBachelor producers: Next time you want to make a 72-year-old man drive on an unfamiliar freeway at night, maybe MAKE SURE HE HAS A CAR WITH FUNCTIONAL HEADLIGHTS, FFS."
One also quipped, "Gerry wondering why he has to drive on the freeway at night." A fourth user wondered, "They made a 72-year-old drive at NIGHT????"
'The Golden Bachelor' contestants find it 'difficult' to adjust to bunk beds
The women were taken aback when they saw bunk beds and a little storage area in the home.
"Sharing a tiny room with four women at our age when we're all so set in our ways," remarked Ellen Goltzer. "It's gonna be difficult."
On X, fans slammed the producers writing, "Now they know they are dead wrong for giving them women bunk beds."
Another user added, "Production really does need to accommodate these ladies and take their ages into account. Bunk beds? Making them stand for long periods of time without the option for chairs?"
Others laughed at the matter saying, "no WAY they’re making grown seniors sleep in bunk beds."
Another person noted, "no bc if i was one of these women i would literally cause a scene if they were trying to make me sleep on a bunk bed. like think about my back and hips! it’s an accident waiting to happen!!"
