LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Netflix’s legal drama ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’s’ returns to the streaming platform for a second season and sees Micky Haller, the hotshot Los Angeles-based defense attorney getting tangled up in another high-profile case in the city. Although, this time, the battle for Mickey is tricky since the woman accused of murdering a real estate developer named Mitchell Bondurant had a brief fling with the LA attorney. The case against her is strong and for five episodes in Part 1 of the second season, Mickey keeps his head straight to acquit Lisa of all the charges. But Lisa’s gardening gloves are found stained with Bondurant’s blood and Mickey is attacked and knocked unconscious by two unknown men in a parking lot towards the end of the fifth episode. Lisa Trammel’s case will be at the forefront as Mickey who gave it his all to defend her, has become suspicious. Mickey always fights to obtain a ‘not guilty’ sentence for his clients while not asking them whether they committed the deed or not but with Lisa, who he enjoyed a brief fling, things might be different.

Lisa has been extremely secretive about her past and only speaks about one thing which is how much she wants to be with Mickey. She doesn’t like to talk about her ex-husband Jeff despite Mickey expressing his desire to speak to him about the case. Mickey has a hunch that Bondurant was connected to an Armenian crime family and will look to explore the ties and see the truth behind them. For now, Mickey is out of witnesses, and chasing this lead seems to be the only probable option before Mickey and his team.

What happened in ‘The Lincoln Lawyer' Season 2 Part 1?

Mickey Haller gets tangled up in the murder case of Mitchell Bondurant, a high-profile real estate developer in Los Angeles. It doesn't work in his favor as the accused in the case is a woman named Lisa Trammel who runs a small restaurant and slept with Haller one night. The duo begins a fling but Lisa is accused of Bondurant’s murder. The prosecution states a motive for the murder by mentioning that Lisa has been opposing Bondurant’s gentrification of the neighborhood, forcing Bondurant to get a restraining order against her. Lisa retaliated and killed Bondurant as per the prosecution which Lisa denies. But as the season progresses, Lisa tries to get closer to Mickey which he puts a halt to.

After the prosecution withdraws a plea, Mickey fights hard in the preliminary hearing to disband the case but Lisa’s gardening gloves are found to be covered in Bondurant’s blood. Moreover, the missing hammer from Lisa’s toolbox is believed to have been used as a weapon to kill the real estate magnum. Mickey is furious as he believes that Lisa hid things from him. He also felt betrayed when Lisa’s life rights are sold by Henry Dahl for a series adaptation when in fact, Lisa signed with Mickey to do the same. When Mickey goes looking for the file at the back of Lincoln, he’s attacked by two men who beat him unconscious as he falls on the ground, completely lifeless in the moment.
