NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘The View’ co-hosts are back with some interesting hot topics, and on Wednesday, they discussed adultery. During this discussion, after Joy Behar presented the topic, Ana Navarro snapped at Sunny Hostin.
There was some tension between Navarro and Hostin for the rest of the segment, which originally started with a lot of humor and banter. However, Navarro was quick to state that Hostin “goes after the woman, and never after the man.”
‘The View’ co-hosts discuss adultery
Joy Behar, who took over as moderator in place of Whoopi Goldberg, presented the topic to her fellow hosts. She began, “A woman wrote in the Washington Post, asking for advice. She says that she had a 15-year affair with a married man.” As the co-hosts gasped, Behar declared, “No judging.”
Behar continued, “Nobody is completely innocent when it comes to marriage and adultery, let’s face facts here.” Behar explained the whole situation to the audience and the co-hosts, about the woman’s partner passing away, and his ex-wife demanded that the mistress doesn’t come to the funeral.
“The mistress is asking whether she should respect the ex-wife’s wishes or whether she should go,” explained Behar. Sunny Hostin quickly chimed in, “Well she obviously hasn’t respected the ex-wife’s wishes for 15 freaking years, so she doesn’t give a crap about how that ex-wife feels.”
Ana Navarro accuses Sunny Hostin of always blaming the woman
As Sunny Hostin continued to talk, Ana Navarro, who was sitting right next to her, interrupted her, “Let me ask you something. Why do you always go after the woman and never go after the man?”
The audience erupted in applause and cheer as Hostin tried talking over them, “Because he’s dead!”
Navarro wasn’t ready to back down as she raised her tone and clarified, “The one who cheated on their marital vows was the man, and we always slut shame the woman, and let the man get off scot-free.”
After Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sara Haines agreed with Navarro, she turned to face Hostin, “Can I say something? You are in a very good marriage and you are very lucky, there’s a lot of people in really terrible marriages.”
Hostin defended the statement and said, “They should get a divorce,” but Navarro was quick to clap back, “Well, sometimes you gotta raise children, Sunny, sometimes you got financial issues, it's not as easy for everybody, and I think it’s wrong for us to judge the woman as harshly as we do, and let the guy go off.”
Hostin remained evidently cold and passive throughout the altercation.
