NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘The View’ hosts had a quick discussion on looks in a relationship during their ‘Hot Topics’ segment on Tuesday, November 28. Joy Behar, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sunny Hostin, and Sara Haines all chimed in on the importance of looks.
In this segment, Griffin also slipped into the conversation that she once dated a “very handsome” soccer player, before she spoke about the rest of his personality to back her statements in this segment of ‘The View’.
Griffin has often spoken about her husband Justin Griffin, whom she married in 2021, on ‘The View’. He is also often a part of her social media. However, beyond that, Griffin’s dating history remains a mystery.
Whoopi Goldberg delivers a comical introduction
‘The View’ was moderated by Whoopi Goldberg on Tuesday and she introduced the “hot topic” to her co-hosts in a comical fashion.
Goldberg said, “Can a relationship survive without physical attraction? That is the question a guy asked in an advice column, Dear Prudence, writing that he loves everything about his girlfriend but her looks. And he's worried that he's just being superficial.”
As Goldberg tried to hold in her laughter, she continued, “The column responded if he's that emotionally connected, he could grow to find her attractive but if not, it's not fair to her, or to him, to keep it going. Do you agree?”
Joy Behar was the first to respond with some advice and said, “I think he should just wear a blindfold when he’s with her if it bothers him that much.”
There was a combination of gasps and scattered laughter at Behar’s advice, who also added, “He’s a guy. Typical male thinking. How many ugly men have we seen with gorgeous women?”
All the co-hosts weighed in on the matter before Alyssa Farah Griffin took center stage to talk about someone she once dated.
Alyssa Farah Griffin opens up about previous dating experience
Before talking about her own experience, Alyssa Farah Griffin weighed in on the topic and said, “She deserves better than him, she does. He says he has a hard time looking at her. She should move on. Personality is more important.”
Griffin then said, “I once went out with a very handsome soccer player. He was so unintelligent, so unfunny, didn't get jokes. I don't care if you're Brad Pitt if your personality is not there.”
“Looks fade…intellect, humor…that lasts,” added Griffin. Griffin did not take any names during this part of the segment.
