UNIVERSAL CITY, CALIFORNIA: Tanner Massey's parents pushed him to sing from an early age, enrolling him in vocal classes and local Oklahoma City contests.
Now is the chance for the 19-year-old singer to shine, especially after being compared to a younger version of one of the coaches on the latest episode of 'The Voice' Season 24.
Tanner auditioned for and performed with Acapop Kids, featuring in one of their music videos.
On the October 9 episode of the NBC show, he expressed his hope that Niall Horan would turn against him.
He sounded a little wobbly, maybe apprehensive. But no one was listening to his high-pitched vocals.
His tone was intriguing, similar to a beautiful pop sound. Finally, Reba McEntire pressed the button, followed by Gwen Stefani and Niall.
Niall could feel his nervousness. "I’m fine working with nerves!" he said, adding, "Lewis would be very proud…I’ll send it to him." He mentioned Gina Miles, his winning artist, as a nervous mess.

Reba acknowledged the fellow Okie artist, saying, "I can give you some advice."
Gwen admired his tone when he referred to him as a gem in the rough.
Tanner, on the other hand, chose Team Niall! "When he said, 'You're like a younger version of me,' I knew who I was picking," said Tanner.

Tanner is a 19-year-old pop singer who has been making songs since he was 15 years old.
He began singing earlier than that, taking voice lessons at the age of 11 and performing publicly, including the national anthem at the Big 12 championship baseball game, at the age of 13.
Tanner was born in Tyler, Texas, but his family relocated to Oklahoma before he began school, and most of his early performances took place there.
In fact, his site page states that he was selected Best Under 16 at the McSwain Theatre in Ada, Oklahoma, two years in a row.
He later joined Acapop! Kids, which was co-founded by Scott Hoying of Pentatonix and competed on 'America's Got Talent'.
Tanner appeared in the band's rendition of 'Shallow,' which was released in November 2019. With over 16 million views on YouTube, the video was one of the group's most popular.

'Break Me,' his most well-known song to date, is an optimistic song about triumphing over worry.
It will be released in June 2022. Tanner revealed his 'The Voice' audition last week, after a multi-month sabbatical on Instagram.
