LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actress Rachelle Lefevre has accused Target of attempting to marginalize the LGBTQ community, including her non-binary seven-year-old child, by relocating their Pride merchandise display to the back of her local store. The retail giant has faced significant criticism for its recent product line, which includes swimwear specifically designed for transgender individuals.

The 44-year-old actress, known for her role as Victoria in the 'Twilight' franchise, expressed her disappointment with Target through an Instagram post. "I just walked into Target and where you see all these lovely swimsuits, that's where the Pride display used to be," the mother-of-two wrote.

'We aren't supposed to negotiate with the terrorists'

"I came in here two days ago, and my seven-year-old, who's non-binary, saw it and said, 'Look, mom, it's Pride, look! They're going to celebrate me!'" 'The White House Down' actress said, expressing concern that she could no longer bring her child to Target due to the distress it may cause them to see the Pride collection moved to a different location. "So the next time my seven-year-old comes to Target - or rather I can't bring them here anymore, at least for the entire month of June - because if they walk in, and all the other people who walk in, and go, 'Where did it go?' They're going to realize that [critics] are being successful in trying to erase them. We could do so much better than this," she continued, adding, "We aren't supposed to negotiate with the terrorists."

In the caption, the actress accused the retail company of engaging in "performative allyship" and succumbing to the demands of critics. Lefevre expressed her belief that if there were genuine security concerns, Target would have the resources to hire additional security. She criticized the decision to move the Pride collection, suggesting that it sends a message that the LGBTQIA+ community did not deserve protection or support.

'You are an irresponsible parent!'

However, instead of addressing the issue at hand, many people dropped comments, criticizing Lefevre for disclosing that her son was non-binary at just seven. "Seven year old nonbinary? Wtf You mean? Let the kid grow up ad decide that? To the kids pride means grown up adults playing dress up," a person commented. Another wrote, "How can a 7 year old be non binary. The poor kid is still developing. Bad parenting!!" A third quipped, "I don’t mind pride clothes in adult sections. But leave the kiddos alone," while a fourth added, "7 year olds have imaginary friends. 7 year olds still believe in Santa. 7 year olds have no idea what 'non-binary' even means. You are an irresponsible parent!" "A 7 year old shouldn’t even know what non-binary is let alone claim to identify as one," said one, while another added, "7 year old non binary! What sort of child abuse is that. FFS."

Addressing the hateful comments, Lefevre said, "If you came here and posted hateful, ignorant garbage, please just unfollow me. I’m sorry for whatever happened to you to make you susceptible to such lies and made your heart so hardened with hate, I truly am and I suggest you use your precious life force to find joy and fill your days with more love and more joy because you clearly aren’t finding it here."
