Was Joe Rogan lying about his father? When podcaster’s dad denied his son's 'abuse' allegations, saying he is ‘misled by mother’

AUSTIN, TEXAS: 55-year-old, Joe Rogan has made his name as a podcaster, standup comedian, and host of the $200 million deal show 'Joe Rogan Experience'. He has also gained a huge fan following while being a UFC color commentator. Not only this, but he has become a permanent fixture and face in the world of MMA and combat sports. Now, with his new segments and outspoken nature, Rogan continues to reach and hit new heights.

But one thing he has remained adamant is about keeping his private life personal. In an episode of JRE posted on YouTube, Rogan revealed how his father was 'abusive' during his childhood. To which, his father claimed to be false.

'I was misled by the mother’

In a TikTok video posted on December 21, 2022, Joe Rogan has been called out by his estranged father and one of his half-sisters, Bridget Rogan Carselda. Rogan had very little experience with his biological father. In a very early episode #118 of The Joe Rogan Experience, he stated, “My real father was crazy."

But according to the pair, (Rogan's father and half-sister), Rogan has been spreading falsehoods about his father for more than 25 years, without any proof.

In the video, Rogan's father said, “I gave you 25+ years, give me 25 minutes, that’s all. I’ll meet you halfway, I’ll go anywhere and meet you. Look me in my face and tell me I’m lying.” Moreover, in the original TikTok video Joe’s half-sister also threatened to open a “pandora’s box”. It could have been disastrous for the podcaster's career and contradicted everything he has previously said about his father.

Rogan Sr. has previously stated that if he had been that terrible, there would have been some sort of legal issue to provide for proof during an interview with The Sun in September 2022. He added, "When they left me, there was no police reports, no complaints against me, no restraining orders, nothing,” he told The Sun. “I took him every Friday for almost a year. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, he was with me.” I would go grab him, watch over him, and provide for him. They would have gotten a restraining order against me if I had been the big scary wolf. He thinks Rogan's mother tricked him, twisted his mind, and made him think he was a bad guy who "smacks women" and "beats kids." He also added, "Joe, I think, was misled by the mother, but what he did was carry it on later in life,” Rogan Sr. claims in a TikTok. “You got me wrong, and you got my family wrong.” One of Rogan Sr.’s daughters, Bridget Rogan Carselda, was sitting alongside her father and bashed her half-brother as well, accusing him of lying and not having any proof.

'He was like a psychotic person'

Rogan discusses his father and the "damage" he led him to experience growing up in a famous footage from an early edition of the Joe Rogan Experience that went viral over ten years ago. "My real father was crazy. He was like a psychotic person who beat the f**k out of my mother, he beat the f**k out of my cousin,” He also claimed. “He picked my cousin up by the hair and threw him.”

Not only this but also, In an interview with Rolling Stone in 2015, he claimed “All I remember of my dad are these brief, violent flashes of domestic violence. But I don't want to complain about my childhood. Nothing bad ever really happened to me.” He said that, although his father was generally kind to him, he still wanted nothing to do with him. “I don't want to try to figure out what went wrong,” he said. “I don't hate the guy, I don't want to beat his a**. I just don't want to be involved with him, and I don't want to talk to him.”
